Some things in life go smoothly – others just don’t! But it had a happy ending. As stated in my last post, I have decided to make a few scarves for the Special Olympics. Program. I also stated that I was unable to find both colors of the yarn I wanted to use. Well, that frustration continued! No, she didn’t tell me wrong, did she? It was a pa...

http://rovingcoles.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Come travel with us as we rove around the country in our RV. Monday, July 25, 2011. Nashville, By Way of Ohio (Again). We headed south out of Elk Rapids and spent the first night in a Wal-Mart parking lot on the west side of Toledo, OH. This became something of a turning point in the trip. It got HOT! It’s STILL hot as I write this from North Carolina.). We did go out to lunch, though. We drove west to Celina and found a restaurant just across the street from the lake. It was a neat setting and I...We pl...

Handmade Cards for Every Occasion (but I don't stamp! It’s been ages since I’ve actually entered a challenge and I couldn’t think of a better one with which to jump back in. This is the sketch from Operation Write Home. This week. I really like the simplicity and (frankly) it fits my style to a T. This is the card I made using the sketch. I liked this one so much that I may have to make more cards using the sketch. I have lots of papers that will fit nicely with this design. A Batch of OWH Cards. Me at a...

Handmade Cards for Every Occasion (but I don't stamp! After learning of a friend’s passing today, I wanted to make a sympathy card for his wife. This is my finished card, along with the inside. White A2 card base, cut to square. Patterned papers from Miss Caroline Howdy Doody. Black and white cardstock from my stash.

Come travel with us as we rove around the country in our RV. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Yes, it’s been way too long since I’ve updated our trip progress. Let me just say that I haven’t been “inspired” to write anything. That’s partly due to the fact that we’ve been here in Maggie Valley, NC, several times before and we haven’t done much that was new or different. But here goes…. We took the long way to Black Mountain. Where you can find the most fun and interesting things from old time toys to real hardwa...

http://rovingcoles.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Come travel with us as we rove around the country in our RV. Monday, June 27, 2011. Our next stop was Lenoir, NC, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our campground was in those mountains, outside of town. It was a gorgeous location. All the RVs were dwarfed by the tall, tall trees. There was a small babbling brook just below and to the left of the wood deck in this picture. Most of the sites had wood decks – it was hard to choose a site. We’d been in 90 degree weather since well before l...

http://rovingcoles.blogspot.com/2013/03/and-so-it-begins.html
Come travel with us as we rove around the country in our RV. Friday, March 15, 2013. And, So It Begins. Once again that old adage (it’s always something) has reared its ugly head. But at least this time, it wasn’t a BIG thing. We were packed and ready to pull out of our site on Wednesday when I noticed that the steps had not retracted. Whaaaa? Were they tired from not being used for 6 weeks? So instead of leaving at 8:30am, it was closer to 11am before we got on the road to start our big adventure. The r...

Paper crafts and Parties - the things that make Shannon's tail wag. Thursday, April 28, 2011. We hosted family and friends for lunch on Easter, giving me the perfect excuse to set a pretty table (or three.) I had found the damask tablecloth ages ago at Home Goods, and the same store came through with napkins in turquoise and yellow at the eleventh hour, too. The birdhouse was a birthday gift from. Kinsey. I placed it on a cake pedestal atop some moss, along with some Robin's Egg candies. Tuesday, Februar...
