The North Shields Fishermen’s Heritage Project is a community based project dedicated to creating a fitting and lasting memorial to fishermen who left the port of North Shields and lost their lives just doing their job. Members of our Group have lost family, friends and colleagues and believe that North Shields (England’s largest Prawn Port) should have a memorial to fishermen lost at sea.
