Thursday, May 7, 2015. Slow Cooker Beef Steak with gravy. 2 pcs ribeye, 1/2" thick. 1 yellow capsicum, sliced. 1 pkt McComick's Beef and Gravy mix. Prepare the gravy according to package instructions (250ml hot water to 1 pouch). Allow it to cool. Add everything into slow cooker. Cook on high for 4h or low for 8h. Serve with bread or rice. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Gem biscuits (ala Khong Guan iced gems). The boys and I love Khong Guan's iced gems. A friend posted a link to a recipe that she found and I knew I had to try making it. It was pretty easy to do, though as the hubby says, it may be just more worth it to pay $1 to buy them! The original recipe source can be found at Loving Creations for You. 70g self raising flour (or 70g plain flour with 1 tsp baking powder). A tiny pinch of salt. 27g milk (add more as necessary if dough is too dry).

Saturday, April 25, 2015. Easy *fill in the blank* muffins. Still testing out the new oven and so wanted to find a simple muffin recipe to try. Got this basic recipe from All Recipes.com. However, because I only wanted to test the oven, I halved the recipe and reduced the amount of sugar added. Overall, a nice muffin that was not too sweet. 110g butter, soften. 250g self raising flour (or 250g plain flour 2 tsp baking powder). 200g sugar (original recipe says 1:1 ratio with flour). Mix well to combine.

Friday, June 5, 2015. Chocolate Cupcake (Super soft). Was trying to make the Chica Cupcake (using a Marshmallow Fondant) for Kieran and decided to make a chocolate cupcake. Used this recipe from Joy of Baking. And it was super soft. When I made up the batter, for a moment I thought the cake was a goner because the batter was very wet. However, it turned out perfect! This recipe is definitely a keeper! 50g (1 cup) Hershey's cocoa powder (original recipe called for Dutch processed. 2 tsp vanilla extract.

Sunday, August 25, 2013. Decided to be pretty brave and try out one of those pretty recipes from Pinterest. All I can say is that it didn't turn out like one of those Pinterest fails! Original recipe can be found at Spring Herb Quinoa Patties. 2 cups cooked Quinoa. About 3/4 cup uncooked). 2 stalks chopped spring onions. 1 medium sized purple onion, chopped. 1/2 cup strong cheese (I used cheddar this time. Will try a stronger cheese the next time around). 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Fold in cooked quinoa.

Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Very simple, fuss free snacker. Preserved plums (salty, sweet ones). Cut a slit on the tomatoes. Cut preserved plums into small strips. The type of preserved plums I used. 1 ripe avocado, mashed with fork. A good handful (10-15) Cherry tomatoes (or 2 Roma tomatoes), chopped. 1 small onion (shallot), chopped. 1 small garlic clove, minced. 2 bunches of cilantro (Chinese parsley), chopped. Juice of one lime. Chillies, chopped (optional). Salt and pepper to taste.
