It's been a few months since I last ran up the GT6 so the battery charger went on midday Friday and after work that day and quite a bit of cranking to get the fuel back through to the injectors she fired up. Just a quick run around the block but enough to free off the brakes and get up to temperature. And the reason for leaving the GT6 for so long?

Thursday, April 9, 2009. OK, it's a Pantera song, not a disco ditty from the 70's but you get the idea. Last Sunday, the neighbours dog escaped while they were out. While attempting to stop it running madly onto the road, I lost my balance. The result is three broken metatarsus in my left foot. Triumphs of Nick B. Monday, 12 October 2009. Bit of this and that. So basicly what has been done to the spit this season has been putting almost 3.000 miles on it and done nothiong but an oilchange and new oilfilter (well, then the insurance has sorted out new bumper and fixing the bonnet, but that does not count! On the GT6 major work is going on. Most of the car has been taken to bits now. I am currently removing old underseal (waxoil? Fair bit of filler around the headlight panel :o.

Triumphs of Nick B. Tuesday, 19 April 2011. First drive of the year. I went to the inlaws (200 miles away) to pick up the spit. I had been parked there for the winter. Car was rather dusty when I found it. Also most of the alloy bits had suffered a bit. Blisters of alloy dust over most parts. With the battery hooked up it started with no probs. 3 seconds of cranking and it sprung to life. Took a nice 4 hours drive home with a quick stop for a photo. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Triumphs of Nick B. Sunday, 5 June 2011. Time for thiis years autojumble at Gavnoe. It is an annual show with appr. 1.000 cars on show. The type of cars are wildly different. From concourse Rolls Royce to tatty Mazdas. Well, before getting to Gavnoe I gave the car a good wash, fresh oilfilter and oil, and just for the fun of it, a magnetic sumpplug I had. On a sidenote - the classic gold filter does NOT have a satisfying oilvalve, so I am still lacking oilpressure for the first ten seconds cranking.
