The Creamery Restaurant or as the locals call it upstairs at the Creamery , nestles under the eaves of the old building. The original uncoated walls and beams create a warm cosy atmosphere together with the fabulous old chandeliers. The restaurant serves a full a la carte menu with the finest of Irish steaks and seafood cooked on an open chargrill within the restaurant. It is medium priced offering good value for money. It has an extensive wine list including many favourites from the New World.

It is probable that the building was built about 1804, when the old Bunratty Bridge was first completed. It was part of the Bunratty Castle Estate, which at different periods, belonged to the O’Brien, Amory Studdert and Russell families. It was used initially as a grain store and fronted on to Bunratty Fairgreen. The old creamery’s original steam generator and pipes provide an original centerpiece for the bar which serves the finest pint of Guinness. Friendly and efficient staff are there to greet you as you settle down beside the open turf fire or park yourself on one of the original milk churns that serve as bar stools. These churns were denoted by local farmers. All around the walls are vintage photographs recording the history of the Creamery, of the Bunratty area and of the people of Bunratty.
