Perfecting the art of procraftination. I tried so hard to get a picture of you two last week. This morning I woke up early and wandered around doing chores for a while. When I went back into the bedroom you two were cuddled right up face to face. I suppose that getting up at 5am from time to time is worth it. Perfecting the art of procraftination. I though I would start this off with a portrait of the boys and the dogs sitting nicely together, but when I went through all the pictures that I took this one was my favorite. I’m not sure what they were looking at, but whatever it was, it must have been serious! I know that I said Thursday was the day for this but I took this picture and here I am. Somewhat of a mission… | Creating in Canyon

Perfecting the art of procraftination. Somewhat of a mission…. Seriously though, I really am on a mission to finish this blanket! All the squares are done so it is just joining time and then the border. I was really good at weaving in my ends as I went along while making the squares but now I am just so excited to see what this blanket is going to look like when it is finished that I am just crocheting like mad and pretending that ends do not exist. I will pay for that later. I know. Or maybe I should ge...

Mustardy Rhubarb Chutney from Marisa McClellan’s Preserving by the Pint a Giveaway. April 25, 2014. Middot; 74 comments. So many good things are coming to life this spring. For starters, RHUBARB (! And the new cookbook, Preserving by the Pint. The stars must have aligned just right so that I could dive into this recipe collection by starting off with our newly grown stalks of spring rhubarb in Marisa’s mustardy rhubarb chutney. I own and love Marisa’s first book, Food in Jars. Marisa is also touring all ...

Good morning lovely ladies around the globe. So, I started something for myself with the sooooo beautiful yarn Joumana sent me. 8230;(Joumana, with every stitch I make I think of you and thank you. I’ve never tried to crochet with something else rather than acrylic and cotton yarn. And I am sooooo enjoying the softness of the alpaca yarn…will I become addicted? Wanna see some pics? This is the start of my granny shawl…. It is crocheted in rows. Yes it is very fast to crochet 😉. I am having some problems...

Creating in a Cottage
Creating in a Cottage. Wednesday, January 18, 2017. I did not copy the photo, but used it as a valuable reference for my sketch. It helped me consider the play of light and shadow. Once I had the value sketch worked out, though, I found I seldom referred to the photo. Especially since the picture was taken in early winter and I wanted my painting to reflect the greens and growth of late spring. Here are the original photo, value sketch and the finished painting:. Mums and moms love their flowers. I've taught my family "this mom" loves receiving flowers in a pot so they can continue to grow and I can also plant in the garden to enjoy the rest of the year or even next year if they are perennials. My mom was a long standing member of a community garden club so she's the one that taught me the beauty of flowers and arrangements. I'm spotlighting another Sassy Cheryl. This little image is Polly's Pink Flower. And can be found at Paper Creators. I'm Late, I'm Late.
Creating in Chaos
Monday, April 7, 2014. I'm a big fan of using tools as many ways as possible. Sometimes, there really is only one way to use them, but when you can use a stamp or ink pad in multiple ways, then that makes them so much more useful. I saw this technique on the Scor-Pal site I think and used it on a card, but then thought I'd do it on a larger scale on a scrapbook layout and I was happy with how it turned out. It filled the space which is sometimes a struggle for me. Monday, March 31, 2014. Well, I got a to...
