Creating in Colour

Saturday, 1 August 2015. A year ago today we took a cab to the hospital at around 8am to have an induction and get labour started. I don't remember vividly that morning; the only thing I knew for sure was that I thought we had waited long enough (too long! It was a strange feeling, different from what I experienced the first time around; it was love at first sight. So here you are, one year later, walking, talking, laughing and making our lives full. Happy first birthday my sweet little one! I'm currentl...

Creating In Colour: February 2015

http://www.creatingincolour.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

February 26, 2015. Brother and Sister: watching tv while mama cooks dinner has become one of their favourite things to do together. And so far they have not been fighting over what to watch. Over the past two years I have been joining. Documenting the life of my little lady through weekly portraits. At the end of the year I ended up with 52 pictures and some funny facts about her life (you can check the past weekly photos. Vale: Getting accustomed to the high chair a few days before starting to eat solid.

Creating In Colour: April 2014

http://www.creatingincolour.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

April 28, 2014. It's week 17 and no one can stop these two from moving around, one inside and the other out! We had a busy and tiring week, a bit stressful on the work side, but enjoyable on the family side. This is you chasing "papus" (as you've been calling dad lately) in Richmond Park. This tiny baby is a very active one. I had my appointment with the midwife this week, and although she couldn't find the heartbeat straight away, she could clearly see him moving! Fruits of the womb. April 22, 2014.

Sketching in Colour: May 2015

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, 24 May 2015. Remembering our first day at the beach with a quick watercolour sketch in my weekly art journal. Happy Sunday! A peak inside my new b/w sketchbook. Sunday, 17 May 2015. As I don't have already enough on plate these days, I bought myself this. White gel ink pen to try out. I had some black paper scraps and started doodling. The results were very effective and loved the white marks on the black background. Sheet of black paper and this. For The Book for Paper Lovers 2. This is a person...

Sketching in Colour: March 2015

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Piana del Fucino e Vallelonga. Sunday, 29 March 2015. Piana del Fucino e Vallelonga - Abruzzo, Italy. It has been a while since I was able to do some outdoor sketching. The drawing was done on site and the colouring was added later at home using a photograph and some notes as reference. It was also the last page in my moleskine pocket notebook, which I had started back in 2008! Wild rose / botanical collection .01. Sunday, 22 March 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sketching in Colour: Sketchbook #5

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2015/04/sketchbook-5.html

Sunday, 26 April 2015. I always have mixed feelings when I fill up the last page of a sketchbook. I feel content as I have completed something and can move on to the next thing, but also a bit sentimental as it marks the end of a journey, which in this case lasted about 7 years! I started this moleskine pocket size notebook back in 2008, when I had just started to get into outdoor sketching and it has been on and off in my bag since then. Oh so many places and so many memories!

Sketching in Colour: November 2013

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

A doodle a day / October. Friday, 1 November 2013. At the beginning of the month I joined a doodle a day challenge created by the talented ellolovey. There are plenty of these type of mini projects over the internet, but this one seemed fun and also some of my IG friends were doing it too. I made myself a teeny tiny sketchbook using a collage cover I made about a year ago and never used, 32 pages of watercolour paper and a 25mm ring. I printed out the October list. Or on Instagram ( here.

Sketching in Colour: May 2014

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Sketchbook #1 / Butterflies. Tuesday, 20 May 2014. I had a go at illustrating butterflies during the month of April, and it turned out more difficult than I thought. My mind wasn’t really there and I recognise I didn’t put much effort into it. The colour choice and composition are not my strong points, and it clearly shows in these pages. Anyhow, I wanted to try some new watercolour pencils, but also I came across my old watercolour palette and thought I would give it a try. Labels: black ink pen. This i...

Sketching in Colour: August 2013

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Friday, 30 August 2013. Just finished this House Garden illustration inspired by one of my mum's kitchen towel from her dowry. I decided to use Arches hot pressed paper, and although is not my favourite brand, I think it was perfect for this subject. And I'm already planning to make some more on a similar style. The original painting will be up on sale on my Esty shop. Happy weekend to all! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). You can follow my other daily adventures and obsessions at Creating in Colour.

Sketching in Colour: Colouring pages

http://sketchingincolour.blogspot.com/2015/08/colouring-pages.html

Saturday, 1 August 2015. Everyone seems to be obsessed with adult colouring book these days. And to be honest some of them are so beautifully drawn that it is a bit intimidating to even start colouring. Considering my love for gardens and flowers, there are two books that I particularly recommend:. Art therapy: extraordinary gardens. By Sofie Leblanc; and. Secret Garden: an inky treasure hunt and colouring book. So I can see it too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is a personal blog, where I sha...
