http://gnomiejo.blogspot.com/2010/07/camano-island-retreat.html
I love sharing my passion for life, fiber arts and travel. Stay tuned! Wednesday, July 28, 2010. I have been absent for quite a long time! I have created numerous blog posts complete with photos. They just have not progressed past my brain! I have tons of photos from my visit to see Ruth. A year ago as well as photos from Sock Summit 2009. Anyway. I won't make that same mistake again! I will be more diligent about taking photos. Maybe. Was a wonderful instructor! This is not your average beginner project!

gnomiejo knits!: February 2009
http://gnomiejo.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
I love sharing my passion for life, fiber arts and travel. Stay tuned! Thursday, February 26, 2009. For those of you that read my blog, know that my husband, Greg, is an avid underwater photographer. He has entered photography contests before and we even won a trip to Fiji once. Like most artists, he is shy about selling himself and his photographs. You can see more of his work on his website. Recently he entered a contest hosted by Wetpixel. In the wide angle unrestricted category he placed third! How i...

That hasn't blogged in quite awhile)! Can you guess who I am going to visit? I will leave the husband and dogs behind and fly out on July 9, 2009! I feel like I have made some lifelong friends. They are wonderful people and I am looking forward to seeing their everyday life! I also am planning to make a little side trip to Estonia!

Purlwise: Nothing fancy
http://www.purlwise.com/2009/06/my-entry.html
Laquo; Here we go again . The third project is done. A very simple raglan knitted in pieces from the bottom up. It also has a stitch pattern that matches at the shoulder seam. Sometimes simple is good, especially when juggling several projects at once. Still havent started the second project, a dolman sleeved cardigan. I keep pressing on with the other projects, hoping Ill eventually find time for the dolman. Posted on June 16, 2009. What a great fit. Posted by: Anthea June 17, 2009 at 07:53 AM. HJS Stud...

Purlwise: Nihon Vogue Certificate Program
http://www.purlwise.com/nihon_vogue_certificate_program/index.html
Finally a picture. Really it's not an easy thing to do with a disinterested photographer. Got to go back to taking my own photos. After all that whining I ended up signing up for year two. Classes start first weekend in October. I'm trying to remember all the projects we'll be doing. Here's a list but it might not be accurate. Lots of traditional garments. Makes one wonder what techniques we'll be using and whether Jean's/Nihon Vogue's will be much different. To redo some chair cushions. Today I jogged 7...

Purlwise: Circular Knitting on One Needle
http://www.purlwise.com/circular_knitting_on_one_needle/index.html
Instep on One Circular. Yesterday I showed the sock that's being worked on two circulars. Today I'll show the other one that's being worked on one circular. Here's how it looked after I picked up all the heel flap stitches. Posted on April 04, 2004 in Circular Knitting on One Needle. Whisper Rib and Shepherd's Lace Sock. The Handy Magic Loop. The top down pullover is finally on the needles with a couple repeats of the mock cable stitch pattern. The pattern says to use a 16" circular needle to start t...

Purlwise: Shaped Cap Sleeves with Wrapped Short Rows
http://www.purlwise.com/2004/02/post_1.html
Laquo; Here I go again. Open Twisted Rib ». Shaped Cap Sleeves with Wrapped Short Rows. The second sleeve cap went much faster now that I understand how to work the short rows effectively. The wrapped stitches turned out much neater since the additional stitches helped minimize gaps. I still snugged. Up the picked up stitches once the cap was done. It's odd to call these wrapped "short" rows because in this instance the rows begin short and get longer as the picked up stitches are worked. Take the workin...

gnomiejo knits!: February 2010
http://gnomiejo.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
I love sharing my passion for life, fiber arts and travel. Stay tuned! Monday, February 01, 2010. A couple years ago at the Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat, I saw my friend Jen's Wool Peddler Shawl. Her shawl was made out of handspun yarn. This shawl can be found in Cheryl Oberle's book, Folk Shawls. The fiber was 50% silk, 50% merino dyed by Lisa Souza. Finally all the fiber was spun up and I was ready to continue with this project. Now for the knitting! Then, last year at Madrona, my friend Angela. Was wear...
