The second project for this class was a set of stickers, complete with label, that was to be turned in packaged and everything. I forgot to take a picture of my final product, but I'll have you know they looked amazing. They're actually working stickers.well, that is, bookplates. Lewis Carroll-themed bookplates to be exact. Once upon a time, I painted this:. Terrible disposal camera picture. It was done for my friend's mom, who is the 6th grade teacher at Kenwood Elementary School. Money, money, money. My cards are now purchasable through etsy. I finally got them up. Yay. And if you haven't already, you totally should subscribe to the weekly Dover design sampler. Also, I'm back to taking a few classes at the local JC. I needed something creative to keep me moving forward, so I'm taking a few classes from the Graphic Design department, although for the most part it's nothing real new. But it is enjoyable. An unlit picture versus an un-edited earlier scan. This piece isn't much more then a quarter inch deep, but I find it interesting how the edges of the light blue paper bleached out on the edges. And while the owl is very white and in focus in the scan, the torn paper is kinda blurry on the lower right edge. Also some shadows are short and dark while others are light and blurry. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. This month as been crazy! Actually the it's been crazy since January. I'm tired of talking about secret projects because it's going to be a long time until I can even think about showing anything I've been working on for them. I have a craving for gouache! I'm thinking I might need to pop over to the art store and grab some proper paper! I've tired to pain in my moleskine with no luck - the pages don't take the color all that well. There's lots I'd like to experiment with.
