Monday, July 25, 2011. July Project Blogroll - What are you working on? This month's blogroll of the Aspiring Metalsmiths Team we're showing what we are currently working on. And there is that word, currently. Are all the half-finished, half-started things on my bench included in this? Or just the items that I have actually touched recently? Upper left: stones, half finished rings, and PMC stuff in progress. Upper right: my dish with some scrap, findings, solder, small stones. Below are some miscellaneou...

Hand cut Stone Cabochons. How to Cut a Rock. Friday, September 23, 2011. This is my very first time participating in the Aspiring Metalsmiths blogroll, and the timing and subject turned out to be perfect. This morning I woke up and had my coffee at my rock table as I do every morning. My rock table is where I keep a large pile of slabs and small pieces to sift through during coffee time. Just about an hour after I had given up, my wonderful post lady arrived with my new Sonoran Dentridic! Autumn Bradley -...

Things beginning with C. Thursday, 28 July 2011. Wow, this month seems to be rushing by in a blur! A couple of weeks ago I was called by the local newspaper who were updating their directory, the man I spoke to was very chatty and after checking his information asked "Just what do you actually make? I simply told him I was a silversmith. After I hung up the phone I suddenly thought, am I really? This post was part of the Aspiring Metalsmiths' Blogroll. I hope you have enjoyed it and if you have, plea...

Lilian Ginebra Jewelry: What I'm working on right now.....
http://girllovesglitter.blogspot.com/2011/07/what-im-working-on-right-now.html
Sunday, July 24, 2011. What I'm working on right now. As usual, I'm working on tons of different things at once. These gemstones will soon be made into rings. Rose Quartz, Carnelian. The new rings will look similar to this ring, but I may wrap them in solid gold bezels. I'm in the design stage with a couple stones. This one is a hand cut Ray Mine Chrysocolla from Laura of Cabbingrough. The little wheel looking things will actually be poppies. I'll stamp and dome the silver and add a center ball. I just w...

Mary Anne Karren Studio. The stories of an aspiring metal artist. By Mary Anne Karren on October 28, 2011. As a jewelry artist, I often get asked where I come up with my ideas. It makes me wonder:. Where DO I come up with my ideas? Do I have a muse? After thinking on this, I realize…it’s complicated. There is a lot of repetition in the. I need to make one of those. So what about the muse? Where does my own special way come from? But I’m always breaking my coffee mugs. Is a fine thing. But to make bea...

Resurrection Silver: What's New
http://resurrectionsilver.blogspot.com/2011/07/whats-new.html
Saturday, July 23, 2011. What am I working on? Well, I think I'm working on attaining my official status as a stonelicker. Just a few short months ago, I had only successfully completed two bezel set pieces and just the thought of another attempt practically gave me an anxiety attack.. And now, I have become a stone addict. How many loose stones does one have in her possession before she officially becomes a stonelicker? Check out the awesome artists below and see what they are working on. Http:/ www...
