Crust Cutoff: 10.10
http://crustcutoff.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Cutting the crust off to get to what matters. Tuesday, October 19, 2010. One art project done, three to go. This next art project is focused on the kids' names. I purchased these letters at Michael's for around $30 total and then purchased some additional paint. At first, I wanted to decorate the letters with circles and stripes, but after looking around the room and all of designs that would be up, I decided to paint each name in one solid color. Here's Nathan's name finished in blue. Links to this post.
Crust Cutoff: finance friday - brown bag it

Cutting the crust off to get to what matters. Friday, January 14, 2011. Finance friday - brown bag it. Bring your brown bag. One great way to save money everyday is bringing your own lunch. It doesn't need to be anything fancy. My husband and I bring our lunch everyday with leftovers from the prior night. This allows us to eat healthier, save money, and waste less food. Generally, we pack the leftovers from the prior night, a yogurt, fruit, veggie, and a snack. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Menu In Motion: October 2012
http://menuinmotion.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Cooking for those on the go. Thursday, October 11, 2012. Using Your Freezer Effectively. This summer I purchased a deep freezer for $60 on Craigslist. I bought it because I was feeling guilty for all the room I was taking up in the tiny freezer I share with a roommate. However, that freezer has changed the way I eat and cook. It also has paid for itself several times over again. Here is how:. I can buy large amounts of meat while it is on sale. Meat is easily the biggest part of my grocery budget. 1 onio...

Cooking for those on the go. Sunday, October 13, 2013. Meal Planning Week #3. That is actually my big gripe with emeals, sometimes it works great, but other times it just does not. Monday- walleye, wild rice and a green salad (wild rice was made in a large batch and frozen prior to this week). Tuesday- crock pot chicken cacciatore. Wednesday- crock pot pork stew. Served in lettuce wraps with cauliflower rice (will prepare cauliflower in food processor prior to wednesday). Hope everyone has a great week!

Cooking for those on the go. Thursday, November 8, 2012. Homemade Salad Dressing- Easier Than You Think! Lately, I have been almost exclusively making my own salad dressings. From being in the kitchen with my mother, I knew it was possible to make a delicious salad dressing out of just a few ingredients. I also know that the list of ingredients on most store bought salad dressings are very long and contain words that belong in a chemistry textbook. From Spark People. The result? You can do the same thing!
Menu In Motion: My Food Philosophy
http://menuinmotion.blogspot.com/p/my-food-philosophy.html
Cooking for those on the go. I think about what I eat- To the point that I know I should not read Michael Pollan's books or watch movies about the food industry because I just might take things too far. That being said- I really enjoy food and in cooking and eating, I strive to find the balance between several goals:. Community- Good food should be enjoyed with others. I love sharing recipes and enjoying food with my friends and family. Whenever I find an awesome recipe, my first reaction is to e...

Menu In Motion: April 2014

Cooking for those on the go. Thursday, April 17, 2014. Weeknight Dinner: Chicken Thighs. They were very flavorful although I think I would prefer more mustard next time. I cooked a mixture of potatoes, onions, carrots and celery underneath in the sauce, which made for an easy side. We also had broccoli bagna cauda. From Nom Nom Paleo, which is probably our favorite way to eat broccoli. Don't fear the anchovy, it is delicious! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Out and about in Minneapolis.

http://menuinmotion.blogspot.com/2013/10/french-toast-casserole.html
Cooking for those on the go. Saturday, October 5, 2013. Thanks everyone for coming to our housewarming brunch! I have had a few requests for the French Toast Casserole recipe and here it is. Charlie's mom, Suzanne Rand made it first, and it was so awesome, I had to repeat it. Also, here is a link to the quiche. I made, which is from the New Basics Cookbook. I used only 1/3 cup of gruyere cheese and next time I would add 1 egg and reduce the amount of half and half to 2/3 cup. 1/3 c maple syrup. Picture W...
Menu In Motion: June 2012
http://menuinmotion.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Cooking for those on the go. Monday, June 25, 2012. I made this salad for a picnic I am going on tomorrow. I did not expect this salad to be nearly as tasty as it was. I am almost disappointed I have to wait until tomorrow to have more than a bite or two. I stumbled upon the original recipe. While searching for kid friendly picnic dishes as it is for a 14-year-old. I made a few changes. I used more chicken. I used green beans instead of edamame, less broccoli slaw and nixed the almonds. 2 Tbs of olive oil.

Crustcrumbs ⋆ HOW TO EAT. WHERE TO EAT.
HOW TO EAT. WHERE TO EAT. December 22, 2014. This time we’ve lost it. What did we do to get here? The greatest fruit in history, the pineapple, has made its mark on 2014. Overcoming its consumable status, this symbol of hospitality is the new jack-o-lantern. And the new bird silhouette on your throw pillow and stationary. Remarkably though, it’s still unable to overtake kale as the new and hot produce item. Cauliflower never happened the way it was forecasted to and with Beyonce. Apologies for sounding l...

Keeping the Kitchen Air Clean. March 13, 2018. Foodies and home chefs love to try different recipes for their families and friends. Some of us will revel in the chance to try new cuisine from foreign countries. Others have a deep ethnic heritage where international dishes are a daily occurrence. These dishes are often enhanced by aromatic herbs, spices and other seasonings. This problem calls for an air purifier to remove the lingering odors, home chefs could buy one with the latest HEPA air purifiers.
