Am also going to run a small cafe race fairing, a 250 BMW rennsport one from Boxer Cafe. Should look pretty cool, I think. Building and racing an EX650R motorcycle. Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Exhaust on, and storage. Reinstalled the exhaust, rear caliper and line, and radiator. Threw on the stock wheels (without spacers) and have the bike covered for storage over the long winter. First MPH weekend is just under 6 months away. MAM might be a mere 5 months! Building and racing an EX650R motorcycle. Sunday, October 26, 2014. Here are some weight figures. Each wheel was placed in a like box and weighed on a postal scale. so the weights are likley 1-2 lbs high, but its relative. The rear 7R and galespeed wheels were weighed in the same box, likewise for the front. So the figures are less important than the weight difference. Rear wheel, cush drive and alloy sprocket. 214038 lb 18.275 lb 3.1288 lbs. Front wheel, no rotors. Galespeed with spacers, 7R without.

Rather than spend over $600 on race carbs, other xt/tt600 riders have used these instead. A ready-made jet kit is available, and will be my starting point. A bit overbuilt, but that should be OK. Rear hump is affixed to the pan using the stock mounting points. Friday, April 24, 2015. With the bike completely disassembled, it was time to get out the angle grinder and remove the tabs and brackets we would no longer need on the frame. We used the cutting blade first to remove the big pieces, careful not to cut into the frame itself. While this was going on, Mr. S was fabricating a bracket for the rear brake light switch. Friday, June 27, 2014. To date (June 27) we have sold 241 tickets. Sales have been pretty steady since we got some great PR with the Minnedosa Tribune and the Brandon Sun. A number of people have been mailing in cheques to purchase tickets. Along with their payments, there has been some pretty heart-warming notes as well. At this rate, we should be able to sell the remaining tickets in the fall, just in time to start our next project. Will it be another Cafe bike, or perhaps a Street Tracker?
