Cycle tour Illinois: Illinois to Missouri
http://moonfleet-moonfleetcycletourillinois.blogspot.com/2007/01/illinois-to-missouri.html
Monday, 1 January 2007. We spent 4 days and cycled 161 miles in Illinois. Although we weren’t in Illinois for long we met several people and had a busy time. We had to cross the Ohio River to get from Kentucky to Illinois so we hopped onto the ferry and arrived at Cave in the Rocks. Which has had a very checked past. Originally inhabited by Native Americans, it was taken over to provide a haven for Pirates and counterfeiters, but now its home to hundreds of house martins. In Carbondale we met Barry and K...

Cycle tour Wyoming: Wyoming to Montana
http://cycletourwyoming.blogspot.com/2007/01/wyoming-to-montana.html
Tuesday, 9 January 2007. We spent 14 days and travelled 654 miles in Wyoming. Moving on the scenery improved as we headed through Red Rock country to Wind River Indian Reservation. At Fort Washakie we took the opportunity to do some window shopping. I really wanted to buy some of the beautiful Indian arts and crafts. As we peddled our way through the Wind River Valley we emerged into a region of layered red cliffs and snow capped mountains. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

As we topped Current Creek Pass we saw the jagged granite peaks of the Rockies looming before us, and our excitement was building. Wide basins lead across a high plateau ...

Cycle tour Kentucky: Kentucky to Illinois
http://moonfleet-moonfleetcycletourkentucky.blogspot.com/2006/12/cycle-tour-kentucky.html
Tuesday, 26 December 2006. We spent 14 days in Kentucky, and rode 496 miles. That first night we stayed in a hostel in a college campus. We had a very good meal in the canteen for just a few dollars. We also met up with some other cyclists who were on the same route as us. Meals were becoming a real art now, we could find fresh food easily and Jeff was turning out some real gourmet dishes, even on the night the heavens opened. I felt a little stab of guilt, sitting in the tent nice and dry waiting fo...
