Hell, yeah!

Wednesday, 22 February 2012. Look Mum No Hands. Look Mum No Hands, is a new cycling themed restaurant bar recommended to me by a work college, who is also one of the biggest cycling enthusiast I know, second to Terry Rawlinson! This is all part of my immersion into the cycling culture which has took off since the beginning of this year! I used to do a fair bit of cycling around Wales, recreational cycling on a Trek mountain bike which compared to my new toy handled like a tractor with four flat wheels!

Hell, yeah!: 60 miles!

http://www.cyclingtitans.blogspot.com/2011/12/60-miles.html

Monday, 5 December 2011. Or perhaps what we look like when we see something amusing (or rather, should I say, something that amuses us. These splendid snapshots were taken just over a week ago, when I did my best distance so far (although, almost every distance I do now becomes a personal best), of 60 whole English miles! And let me tell you something else: that 60 miles that I did, was, in actual fact . quite easy! For now, erm, до свидания. Goodbye, in Russian). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Hell, yeah!: Aaaand, we're back to square one

http://www.cyclingtitans.blogspot.com/2012/01/aaaand-were-back-to-square-one.html

Tuesday, 10 January 2012. Aaaand, we're back to square one. You know how I said that you were joining us at the end of the beginning? Well, we're actually back at the beginning of the beginning. Terry's been ill, with something respiratory and green. I've been only a bit poorly, and have used Terry's illness as an excuse to be lazy. So, we are back down to shorter distances for a while, until my poor little brother can use his lungs properly again. You must be mental! I don't know what's happened to me, ...

Hell, yeah!: Let me take you back ...

http://www.cyclingtitans.blogspot.com/2011/11/let-me-take-you-back.html

Monday, 28 November 2011. Let me take you back . What maketh a man a man? Mountainous pecs, thunderous biceps, wealth and women? What followed was the bestest, worstest, hardest, awesomest, most eye-opening experience of my young life. Let me give you a very quick run down of the events of those nine days:. Day 1 - Hills and miles. Day 2 - Hills and miles. Day 3 - Miles and miles. Day 4 - Miles and miles and miles. Day 5 - Miles, hills, Scotland and miles. Day 6 - Hills, hills, hills and miles and hills.

Hell, yeah!: My first glimpse at a bad day

http://www.cyclingtitans.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-first-glimpse-at-bad-day.html

Monday, 23 January 2012. My first glimpse at a bad day. Well, I think it's best to admit that yesterday's cycle of 60 miles was not my best cycle ever. And while I would not go so far as to say that it was a bad cycle - because I didn't give up, and I did not cry - it was not my best. I'll be honest, I found it hard. Yes, I think it would. Back pain. Now this is my own fault, and comes from me not taking care of my back over the past couple of weeks. I have mostly been slouching. Battling the wind. I...

From Austen to Woolf: And I'm still ...

http://becomingwellread.blogspot.com/2011/09/and-im-still.html

From Austen to Woolf. Thursday, 29 September 2011. And I'm still . Reading Gormenghast. It's really long. It's a story about a castle and its occupants. It could be told in probably ten chapters, but Mervyn Peake likes to draw things out and tell us many details about curtains and breezes and leaves and thoughts and whispers and noses and hairstyles and dresses and stones and books and rituals and coughs and graves and ribbons and attics and walls; things like that. So that's all; for now. Subscribe to: ...

From Austen to Woolf: January 2012

http://becomingwellread.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

From Austen to Woolf. Monday, 23 January 2012. I'm being more adventurous! I have stuck to reading one book at a time. That meant that I got lots of books finished because I wanted to move on to the next one quickly. I still think this is a good way of reading, and I'm kind of still sticking to it. Which was wonderful. I have now moved on to Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time. Which is completely different, though it deals with many of the same questions. I'm also reading The Old Curiosity Shop.

From Austen to Woolf: Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke

http://becomingwellread.blogspot.com/2011/07/inkheart-by-cornelia-funke.html

From Austen to Woolf. Monday, 11 July 2011. Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke. It was good. Very good in fact. I'd heard that it was good, but it was one of those that I'm afraid I felt a little snobby about - all I knew of it was that it had been made into a film starring Brendan Fraser, and that small fact set me against it a little bit. I suppose I imagined that I might end up reading something as time-wasting as California Man. The writing in Inkheart. Has a shifting perspective too, but it's done slightly...

Whither Shall We Wander? Sunday, 25 March 2012. This is the year, oh yes. So, with one entry in this blog, we're doing well for getting outdoorsy and fit. Not. But now, it's not that we haven't been outdoors at all, it's just that I haven't been writing about our adventures. What a wally I am. See you soon,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From Austen to Woolf: August 2011

http://becomingwellread.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

From Austen to Woolf. Wednesday, 24 August 2011. I'm working my way through this little 900 page story. Well, it's not really that big of a story, because it's three books in one, and I've read a few trilogies that are longer. I thought I'd just write a little about my initial impressions of it. This was my initial impression when I opened it at the first page of the first book, Titus Groan. This is what the blurb says on the back of the copy I have:. But anyhow, I'm carrying on with the book, because I ...

Whither Shall We Wander? Monday, 18 April 2011. My heartrate is approaching its resting rate of lazy.bpm, my breathing has returned to normal; my vision is a little off, the scenery I'm trying to gaze at is still trying to snap itself into focus, and I am just trying to concentrate on keeping the remaining contents of my stomach where they should be. View of Morecambe Bay, from Hare Appletree Fell car park. I will tell you about my morning by listing it as a series of mistakes. It's not very likely.

Cycling To Australia (and beyond!)

Cycling To Australia (and beyond! A journey to Australia, overland as much as possible, setting off from Oxford in May 2007. Friday, 19 March 2010. Combe - Back home. It’s has taken me a long time to write up the last little day of my travels, so to make up for it you have a bit of waffle to go with it. The ride from Aylesbury to Combe was uneventful, but pretty much what I expected, after all I was following a route I knew for the first time in almost 3 years. The trouble was that suddenly. 8221;, &#822...
