Como hemos dicho anteriormente el lavado de manos es fundamental para cortar la cadena de transmisión de muchas enfermedades, sin embargo los profesionales de la salud a pesar de estar conscientes e informados de esta realidad muchas veces no cumplen a cabalidad con esta básica norma. Por consiguiente las enfermedades intrahospitalarias aumentan y los pacientes se ven cada ves mas vulnerables a presentar alguna de ellas.
