6 and 7 June 2015. Attending were Jason Lovell, Dave Pendleton, Mike Mazurkiewicz and Jack Enright. The cab front was cleared of items so that the lower nose can be refitted, the roof guttering on the support coach was cleaned and work started on repainting the roof. Next work started on dismantling the bogies. If you wish to lend a hand please contact Rob Mason. The weekend saw David Garnett and Jim Gough. More new steel was welded into place on the lower nose sections, three additional holes were drilled for the upper frame to be mounted and work continued on grinding down the edges to make these flush for welding and flush after welded. A Brief History of Class 15 Locomotives:. The locomotives were delivered painted all over British Railways Brunswick Green, with the area surrounding the forward and rear viewing windows in a lighter green. Small Yellow warning panels were added ad hoc from 1963 onwards, with full yellow ends eventually being applied to all except to D8230 and D8232. Under the TOPS numbering system the fleet was classified as Class 15, although none of the locomotives ever carried a 15XXX number. D8233 and the other two ...

The second class 14, D9537 arrived at the ELR late on the 4th of March 2013. The loco, nicknamed 'Eric', was purchased by a consortium of ELR Diesel group and C15PS members from its former owner, whose intial plans for the locomotive when purchased did not come to fruition. Captain Bill Smith RNR. BR Blue with White Window Surrounds. Carriage and Wagon Company. 33109 is one of two 33/1's at the ELR (the other being 33117. 33109 was stored at Crewe for some time following the demise of the Fragonset company but was secured by a group from the ELR.
