Daisychains and Dandelions: March 2016
http://daisiesanddandelions.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
A blog about faith, courage, and hope. Monday, March 21, 2016. Sunday was Palm Sunday. I normally enjoy the recreation of Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem, followed by a reflection on the passion and crucifixion, but I discovered yesterday that an empty stomach, a head cold and a hot church are a bad combination. I nearly passed out right in the middle of service! Little Bits of Joy. Friday, March 18, 2016. Enthusiasm is a good thing. Thursday, March 17, 2016. Happy St. Patrick's Day. 1 Booker T....
Daisychains and Dandelions: Blast Off to Kindergarten
http://daisiesanddandelions.blogspot.com/2016/06/blast-off-to-kindergarten.html
A blog about faith, courage, and hope. Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Blast Off to Kindergarten. Afterwards we sat in the playground and the Bumper crawled up on my lap. "Mom," she said, "I'm sad.". Because I won't see my friends for the whole summer, and even when we come back Mrs. H won't be my teacher. It won't be the same.". I had nothing to say, so I sat an rocked her for a while. She was right and all I could do was hold her and let her know I was not going anywhere. Praise God for a Good Year.
Daisychains and Dandelions: August 2015
http://daisiesanddandelions.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A blog about faith, courage, and hope. Wednesday, August 19, 2015. It Is Amost Here. It is coming and I am excited! Almost as excited as when I finished turning the heel on sock#2. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Tuesday's Are For Making. 1 A dishcloth- knit out of Lily Sugar and Cream Cotton Colors. 2 A cheerful blanket using Stylecraft yarn and a pattern from Attic 24. 3 The infamous second sock, unfortunately I don't remember the name of the yarn only that I bought it at Hancock Fabrics. Little Bits of Joy.

The Bumper was feeling much better today and she should be ready to go back to school tomorrow, but now Nana is sick. We have all been drinking loads of hot tea and eating lots of soup. Daisychains and Dandelions: Bring on the Summer
http://daisiesanddandelions.blogspot.com/2016/06/bring-on-summer.html
A blog about faith, courage, and hope. Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Bring on the Summer. The Bumper gets her green thumb from her Nana. The Bumper's last day of pre-k is tomorrow. She is excited for summer vacation to begin. The Bumper is not a morning person (except on Saturday) and it has been a struggle to get her to school by 8am every morning. I am looking forward to the break from that at least. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to Daisychains and Dandelions! I am a Christian, a wife , a writer...

Ready, steady. | Yarn Harlot

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. July 24, 2015. Now, I’m at the end of my day, and I’ve got a few things left to do, and I have a choice. I can do Karmic Balancing gifts – which will take a few hours, or I can make dinner, walk it down the street, and snuggle a new baby for a few hours before I go to bed. I hope you all understand. The choice was a little easy. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. 51 thoughts on “ Ready, steady. July 24, 2015 at 4:31 pm. July 24, 2015 at 4:33 pm.

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. More wool than sugar and spice. October 14, 2014. Myrie’s little sweater was Minni. 8211; knit out of Madeleine Tosh Sock. In Antler (the cream) and Magnolia Leaf (not the cream). The needles – in case you were wondering, were 2.25mm and 1.75mm – fiddly, I know. I trimmed it in green left over from a sweater last year, and I made the largest size because when you make something like this, it should fit for a while. It was lovely to see them being used, ...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. A sad knitter story. October 2, 2014. Here’s something that almost never happens. I’m leaving for Vancouver (Knit City yay! I still feel like taking out a little yarn insurance isn’t the worst idea I could have. You know. Just in case something bad happens – and sometimes things do. Can I tell you about my sister-in-law, Kelly? That’s a selfie Kelly sent me today – she’s knitting Encompass. Hard to explain in a place with no winter. Now imagine this....

Of a woman learning to live. Skip to primary content. In the thick of it. May 25, 2015. You might cry, at nine o’clock pm on a Saturday night when you’re cleaning the last bathroom and your man comes in and finds you. Hey, hard workin lady, he says gently, and holds you. You might cry then, though you’ve been strong all day. They’re in bed now. There is no part of your life you would dispense with, not for worlds. It’s just that you’re so flat tired. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Maybe just one more ball. August 13, 2015. Today I’m posting late pets, because I just did one of the wildest things that I’ve ever done, from a knitting perspective. Do you all remember my sister-in-law Kelly. Not only do you need the right amounts of everything, but to maximize her limited amount of space, we needed to make sure that the leftovers from things can sort of hang together, so that a half ball of this and a part skein of that can be a stri...

daisies and damask | a year in color
A year in color. July 24, 2014. I hate to admit it, but I am now ruined for all other forests. As much as I will always adore Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, those lush forests (as seen here. Still can’t compare. There is just something about standing among the Giants (some over 2,000 years old) that makes me feel insignificant yet honored all at the same time. July 14, 2014. We left early, 5:30 am , on Thursday morning we were all too excited to sleep, which was just as well since the Bumper had a little trouble popping her ears once the plane took off and I had t8 o give her chewing gum to help teach her how. Unfortunately the Bumper persisted in kicking the seat in front of her for the entire flight. I was so embarrassed! I think f...

Daisies and Dandelions | Exploring the natural world around us
Exploring the natural world around us. June 13, 2011. Yesterday, walking down an overgrown track in Norfolk I saw lots of a furry, orange butterfly I couldn’t name. They turned out to be Large Skippers. They have a big body, and are quite fuzzy all over. Their wings sit as a moth’s do or similarly, with the lower wing furled beneath the upper. Their antennae are stripy, black and yellow. Hebrides and Ben Nevis. February 8, 2011. We stayed in Oban which seemed a perfectly nice town, and took the ferry ove...
