Tuesday, August 4, 2015. We've been living in Colorado Springs for two weeks, and I'm learning more and more about the area every day. Though I still have much to learn, here are a few important points I think people should know about our beautiful new home! It's closer to the sun. The Springs sits at an elevation of just over 6,000 feet. (Harrisonburg is 1,325 ft.) This means the air is thinner with less oxygen, exercise is more challenging, and sun exposure is more extreme. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Westward pilgrimage: Some highlights. After 3 days of travel, we arrived in Colorado Springs last night. It's a bit strange, moving into a house you've never seen before in a city you've never visited, knowing it's going to be your home for two years. I'm sure within a few days I'll start feeling more comfortable here, but right now it mostly feels like I'm on vacation in an unfamiliar place. The third day, we drove across most of Kansas and into Colorado. It was a LOT of water.
