Putting The D In Democracy Since 1987. The Chronicles Of One Graduate Student's Journey Through The Nation's Capitol. Monday, June 8, 2009. Let the Adventure Begin! Well, the next phase begins. I've arrived in D.C. and I'm beginning the training week for the JSA program here at Georgetown. My red-eye flight took me from Oakland to Boston, and then I went from Boston to D.C. All told, maybe two or three hours of sleep. It could have been worse? I have a busy week ahead, but I'll update when I can!

Thursday, August 21, 2008. Lessons in Bus Travel Part 2:. You may get dropped off by the side of the road. So Kapadokya is crazy.  It's known for its wine and its strange rock formations.  It's basically a cross between Napa Valley, Utah, and Mars.  I kinda felt like I was on the set of Star Wars, which, I mean, I was. The Göreme Open Air Museum is a UNESCO site.  The rocks were carved out, and churches were built inside of them. Looks kinda Tatooine-y. But Tatooine is supposedly in Tunisia. Dwade's Dail...

Dan in the Cloud. A blog of web development, technology and self-education. Creating graphics and images for retina displays. Recently I redeveloped an old site with a fresh, mobile-friendly design. While doing so, I found that many of the older image assets didn’t look quite as good as they otherwise might on mobile devices. After doing some investigating, I found out that images shown at their native resolution on a high-resolution display actually get scaled up to maintain their size. February 13, 2016.

Dan in the Kitchen

Dan in the Kitchen. The place where you can follow the adventures of my meals. Thursday, February 21, 2013. In an attempt to work more fish into our diets we came across a recipe on the back of the packet. Of lemon pepper tuna that I had a coupon for. Fish tacos are nothing new but I never thought to. Use canned tuna to make them. This is an extremely fast recipe that requires no cooking. So if. You can’t cook you can’t use that reason to not try and make this easy dish. 4 6" flour or corn tortillas.
