Observatory Log: 8.8.15 - Saturday
http://dasobservatorylog.blogspot.com/2015/08/8815-saturday.html
Opened up at 10:30pm. Mixed clear and cloud but it cleared for a couple of hours then mixed again, the kind that follow the telescope. Spent the night trying to collimate and failing, though I could be looking for too much. Left at 4:00am.

A clear sky all night or at least from 10:00pm to 3:00am, when I closed down. The best night I've seen for many months, clear all round and the Milky Way could be seen from the bottom of Perseus across the top of the sky to the bottom of Aquila. I could see it all night, or whenever I looked.

Observatory Log: 5.7.15 - Sunday

10:30pm to 3:00am. Clear almost all night, just a few stringy clouds on the south horizon to prevent me getting at M16. The 3/4 Moon was there too to help make things difficult, but I was there to test star images rather than trying to make good photographs. More work on the ODK and I think I've almost completed the collimation. Very delicate adjustments and tightening of the screws. Testing on M11, M76, M27. The dome was playing the Fool again.

900pm to 10.30pm. 27 children from St Francis Xavier for stargazing the trouble is its not really dark at this time of year for 7 to 8 year olds. Arrived at 9.00pm and gave the usual talk, lots of questions and I mean lots, a very interested group of pupils.Over to the domes about 9.45 only to find complete cloud cover,so I let them operate the pc to where the planets should be. No more bookings till the start of the new school year time for my holidays.
