Petrified National Forest - Painted Desert. The Petrified Forest is known for its fossils, especially fallen trees that lived in the Late Triassic, about 225 million years ago. Coast to Coast Grandkids Tour - Canyonlands NP (July 2011). Canyonlands National Park provides many spectacular views looking up, down, and across a seemingly endless expanse of canyons. Long story short, three repair shops later, found the plug for the codes to be read behind the ashtray NOT under the glove box like the books said.
