Equine Art of Rebecca van Leeuwen. Sunday, October 23, 2011. Walk Like an Egyptian. Model horses aren't the only hobby I've dabbled in. Over the years, I've tried my hand at origami, painting, fashion design, paper making, sewing, you name it. Recently I had the chance to explore beading as well in the form of an Ancient History project on Egyptian culture:. That seemed to be what I was looking for. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Little Red Horse: May 2013
http://thelittleredhorse.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 27, 2013. Sunday, May 26, 2013. I am currently working on both the warmblood and pony resin masters. For comparison, here is a picture of them side by side. Although neither horse looks like this anymore; they literally fell to pieces! As for Tristan, he lost his head. After putting a mane on him, he still looked to refined rather than thick and pony like. So his head is getting thickened and his neck is coming off and getting shortened. And his pasterns need to be fixed. Monday, May 6, 2013.
Blackberry Lane Pottery News: It's All Swell!
http://blackberry-lane.blogspot.com/2012/10/its-all-swell.html
Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Swellegent, that is! I mentioned the product in a post about the workshop. I took with Christi Friesen last month. The Swellegent products are finely-ground metals suspended in a binder. They thin and clean up with water, which make them extremely easy to use, but because they are metal they can be oxidized or given a patina. I really liked how the patina made the letters pop from the background, and it was much easier to get a smooth surface using the bare bisque. If lea...

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. He is listing to starboard in a pretty obvious way. We usually adjust for a weight-bearing leg "pulling up" by shifting it ever so slightly in the opposite direction. The idea is that as it dries, it will pull into the proper place. But to know what constitutes a small shift, I need to have the legs lined up properly. Since the change is usually too subtle to see even when placing the original next to the casting, I needed another way to check. Sunday, October 10, 2010. Elsie...
Aspen Leaf Studios Blog - Jennifer Scott: July 2012

Sunday, July 29, 2012. I've gone and done it. Well, gone over to the dark side of clinky ponies. Blame Karen Gerhardt. Or thank her. :). My new (to me) Skutt KM1227 in it's place of honor in the front corner of our garage. Obviously the crap around it will get moved during fires. :). Here's a little size comparison -. I'm 5'6" and as you can see the thing could easily fit me inside it! So what am I doing with this Mama Jama kiln? Molding for ceramic is much different than molding for resin casting. I...

Monday, April 9, 2012. So, since my website at this point is horribly out dated and I don't see any time to get to it in the near future, I'll post some WIP horses here. I'll actually be giving the website a nice facelift when I do get to it, so there'll be that to look forward too as much as the new photos that will be on it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday, September 30, 2012. So you all remember the previous post. Where I showed off my new-to-me-kiln and the beginnings of Darcy's mold? Well, the mold has been finished and is a success! I have two casts out of it and will be aiming for a third this week. I'm not quite finished with the cleaning on this piece, but just about. I have to tell you just how much FUN it is to customize the clay! Wrinkles are a breeze and come out SO nice! Wish me luck. :). Sunday, September 2, 2012. I'm someone who can't ...
