Boyle's Law expresses the inverse relation between a gasses volume and pressure, and states that as pressure increases, volume decreases and vice versa. The air pushed the water down adding lots of pressure. So then the water will go into the graduated cylinder getting rid of air. Then we measure the air in the graduated cylinder. Testing the Momentum of Water with Coated Tracks. Title and Problem Statement. Results and Percent Error. We are studying the effect of different coatings on the flow of water. The coatings we are using are Hyrophylic. We decided to use a wooden stand to switch out three different rain gutters, which will be coated differently. The water exits a bucket through a spout, and it gains, loses or keeps its momentum. We then measured how far the flow of water launched itself out off the gutter.
