Jugalbandis in indian classical are not a rare sight , and Dhrupad genre is no exception, from times in memorial, pairs of singers have been performing it and specially famous were the Elder Dagars, also Ustads Zia Mohiuddin Dagar on the Rudra Veena and our Guru Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar vocal and in recent times The Gundecha Brothers. But presented today is a slightly different form in that it is a female - male Jugalbandi, the first ever in the history of Dhrupad.

Welkom op de site van het Dhrupad Festival Nederland
We maken ons nu op voor de tweede editie van het Dhrupad Festival Nederland. Dit zal plaatsvinden op 8 en 9 maart 2014, wederom in RASA, Utrecht. Op de programmapagina vindt u de line up van het aanstaande festival. Ik kijk niet alleen uit naar de concerten van gerenommeerde musici, maar hoop van ganser harte ook u weer te mogen begroeten. Op 1 en 2 februari 2013 vond het eerste Dhrupad Festival Nederland plaats. Hoogtepunt van het festival was het concert van de 80jarige Ustad Fariduddin Dagar.
