The silence conceals their conversation from the viewer. The women’s behavior excludes and distances the viewer from their clique. Theater Part Three 2002.

The continuous loop allows the characters to perpetuate the rhythmic action eternally. The use of slow motion produces visual trails from the hands and a reverberating sound from the clapping. In the fast motion scenes the sound is revealed and the viewer/voyeur is suddenly jolted into another invented reality. The sound emphasizes the automatism and the mechanical nature of the movements. Each in turn spoon-feeds the other. Playing on ideas of opposites and favorites, the brunette gets fed vanilla pudding while the blonde gets fed chocolate pudding. In Lap, two women, one blonde, one brunette, take part in sacrificing comfortability for the sake of the other. The absurd act turns into a mechanical game of posing for the camera. The personalities of the women are revealed by their different mannerisms. The women have no hesitation playing the game. Their comfortability with one another makes the action seem oddly natural. It is not known whether the rest of the bodies are clothed. The back of the love seat faces the viewer to conceal the true nature of the activity and the identity of the characters.
