Almost Slowfood: Breakfast: Poached Eggs over Polenta
http://almostslowfood.blogspot.com/2010/05/breakfast-poached-eggs-over-polenta.html
Follow Me as I try to cook slow in a fast world. Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Breakfast: Poached Eggs over Polenta. Please subscribe to receive Almost Slowfood via. At the now officially out of its winter funk farmers market, I picked up asparagus, chives and pasture-fed eggs from Bradley Farm. For Sunday brunch I took advantage of the above plus a hunk of pancetta I'd picked up at Dickson's Farmstand. I'm dying to make Smitten Kitchen's Spring Asparagus Pancetta Hash. 4 Eggs cracked individually into ramekins.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013. A cake for Spring (and Breakfast). Which is how I found myself making this cake. It seemed a perfect compromise for me: practically a one-bowl wonder, nicely unfussy but pretty in presentation, not too sweet as balanced by the sour lemon, and not too healthy (despite the yogurt) as balanced by the copious amounts of cream dolloped and cascading down the slice. And a very welcome taste of a very welcome new season. (There are bursting buds on the tree outside my window! Preheat ...

Friday, April 11, 2014. Sometimes a Cookie is Just a Cookie. Do you want to hear more about this? I'm annoying myself here. The 18 lb weight enjoys some avocado. And really, what is all of that nonsense anyway. PS Speaking of inspiration, I will forever love this interview. Chocolate Brownie Cookies (Courtesy of Bon Appetit). 3 cups gluten-free powdered sugar. 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1 teaspoon kosher salt. 2 large egg whites. 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped. Thursday, July 10, 2014. Food On Your Face (And Body). Oops Ok a few months to catch up on. Long story short: It's hot, I made my off-Bway debut here. I went to Norway with this show. That will be coming here. In the fall), I had a birthday and you (plus fam) made me not one but two excellent parties, and I've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen. But not (entirely) in the way you might think. There's no doubt about it, Mouse, my Inner Hippie (or maybe "Natural Woman" is more accurate? Despite a le...

Tuesday, April 29, 2014. I am Genius, and So Can You. I have no remaining physical evidence of the miracle which took place in my apartment on Easter Sunday. No image appearing on a slice of toast, no time lapse photography showing a glass of wine disappeared by an elusive Elijiah (see what I did there? No, not even a single blurry cell phone photo in which one can barely make out the outline of a figure backlit in a halo of warm afternoon sunlight. Oh wait, there is a blurry photo:. Can you see it?

Almost Slowfood: Classic Meals: Korean Bulgogi

Follow Me as I try to cook slow in a fast world. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Classic Meals: Korean Bulgogi. Please subscribe to receive Almost Slowfood via. Until recently, I didn't have the guts to experiment with Asian cuisine. Big ingredient lists, unique spices, and alternative cooking techniques all seemed too complicated for my limited time in the kitchen. But then I tried Steamy Kitchen's Beef Pho. Recently, I paid a visit to Dickson's Farmstand. Those are great for making Bulgogi." "I'll take eigh...

About Us: Making History (and Lunch)
http://mousebouche.blogspot.com/2013/07/making-history-and-lunch.html
Friday, July 12, 2013. Making History (and Lunch). What does making history look like? Well, when it comes to us, it looks a little something like this:*. And then, this:. A rehearsal with the Hart Sisters always features snacks. This cornucopia brought to the table by our fearless director and honorary sibling, JMK, who arrived bearing an overly large CSA delivery. The cherries may or may not have made it into the play.). Our first time together on stage. In another bit of narrative/history/significance...

http://mousebouche.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 13, 2013. It's been quite a ride. Six months. And I thought I was big THEN. Almost all of these "don'ts" have mixed evidence to support their ban ( this woman just wrote a whole book. Oh, but those churros were worth it. The point is, I've been thinking about my experience eating during pregnancy a lot lately, mostly because a) thinking about eating is what I do, pregnant or not, and b) because pretty much the second most popular question I'm asked after, "how do you feel? Who is to say...

Wednesday, February 29, 2012. DeCecco's Angel Hair Nests. Ground Beef (or Turkey). Pinch of Crushed Red Pepper. In a large bowl mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, Italian seasoning and crush red pepper. Pinch 1-2 inch spheres with your hands. Cook them on a medium heat skillet until the meat balls are. Once your nests are cooked and drained, serve with your sauce and meatballs. Personally, I like to garnish it with shredded parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning; but it isn't. Necessary . Enjoy!
