Little House on the Island. A New Family Member. September 18, 2012. Well, we finally did it…we brought home a dog! In the back seat with Kara and Elliot. He’s a male, Australian shepherd/border collie mix, 9 weeks old today, and full of energy. The mom is a white merle Australian shepherd on the small side (she was a very pretty dog), and the dad is a border collie a little large for a border collie. He looked like he had some Aussie in him too though. Ours looks like this…. Getting to know each other.
