Little House on the Island. A New Family Member. September 18, 2012. Well, we finally did it…we brought home a dog! In the back seat with Kara and Elliot. He’s a male, Australian shepherd/border collie mix, 9 weeks old today, and full of energy. The mom is a white merle Australian shepherd on the small side (she was a very pretty dog), and the dad is a border collie a little large for a border collie. He looked like he had some Aussie in him too though. Ours looks like this…. Getting to know each other.

Wednesday night for dinner we had venison sausage from the deer we got while hunting this last season, and some acorn squash that I had put up from my garden. It was a simple dinner, but very good.
