Field Notes: Bend and Family
http://louisaandsean.blogspot.com/2011/08/bend-and-family.html
Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Well if you ever find yourself in the middle of sagebrush and grassland looking at Mt. St. Helen, Rainier,Hood, Jefferson and 8 other peaks, many of them well over 10,000 feet and covered in snow, then you're probably in eastern Oregon or Washington. You see so many mountains, you can't remember all their names. Proof that you're still in Washington. Beauty needs no name. Two of the Sisters as seen from Redmond. The start of our good food adventure at a corner market cafe.
Field Notes: Our Ride to the Dunes and the Reef
http://louisaandsean.blogspot.com/2011/08/our-ride-to-dunes-and-reef.html
Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Our Ride to the Dunes and the Reef. After extending our time in Bend by an extra day, we finally felt ready to head south. With five days and fifteen hundred miles between us and home, this last leg of our trip was certain to be full of some awesome sights - and lots of time behind the wheel. One of the many fossil beds dotting eastern Oregon. A larger-than-life covered wagon - a monument to. The settlers and the Oregon Trail. The trail to the campground oasis. The falls are p...
Field Notes: The Bend Adventure Continued
http://louisaandsean.blogspot.com/2011/08/bend-adventure-continued.html
Wednesday, August 17, 2011. The Bend Adventure Continued. While some fantastic Moroccan-inspired food and delicious local meals (check out this great non-profit restaurant. Were consumed and very much enjoyed - no pictures were taken. Suffice it to say, if you could only eat in Bend (and Portland) the rest of your days, you would be more than satisfied! View from the boat. The bottom of the lake - the natural result of the damming of a spring. Many thousands of years ago. Spreading the good news. Coulee ...
Field Notes: July 2011

Monday, July 25, 2011. After our delicious Swedish brunch on Sunday, David offered to drive us to what in my mind was described as "some falls" east of Portland along the Columbia river gorge. As it turned out, the Gorge, its waterfalls and vistas combined with their proximity to Portland may be one of the most wonderful surprises of Oregon. The friends at the falls. It was a little scary under there with the noise of the water rushing overhead. A happy break on our hike. With the great friends, excellen...
Field Notes: Have you ever touched a starfish?
http://louisaandsean.blogspot.com/2011/08/have-you-ever-touched-starfish.html
Saturday, August 6, 2011. Have you ever touched a starfish? On our way to the Hoh Rainforest, we stopped at the creatively named "Beach Four" (there are beaches One through Six, if you're wondering) to see some real tidal pools. There we found gorgeous sea creatures, just like the ones we were introduced to at the aquarium in Newport. With green sea anemones. Mussels covering the rocks. Up close they look like this. Field Notes: June 2010
http://louisaandsean.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 21, 2010. After two weeks away from home, happily distracted by the beach in Kino, we returned to find our garden in full-swing. Thanks to our very thorough caretaker, there were no major losses among the plants. An hour of weeding and a few transplants on our first morning back put everything in perfect order. Oh, what a happy homecoming to our little eden. Hollyhocks glowing at sunset. Corn, nearly a foot tall now. They may be small, but these berries are fiercely flavorful! We all put in ...
Field Notes: THE Hurricane....ridge

Monday, August 8, 2011. Puget Sound with Mt. Baker in the distance. The Strait and Vancouver Island. In addition to the stellar views, made possible by the clear weather which had only just arrived, (it was the parks third day above 60 degrees all year! The alpine area was covered in deer, marmots and spring wildflowers! One of the many bucks grazing on the new-sprung pasture. Our dear friend the marmot outside his home. Clusters of phlox graced most of hills. Lou on the trail. Fawns on the trail. The ir...
Field Notes: Capitol Domes and Coral Reefs
http://louisaandsean.blogspot.com/2011/08/capitol-domes-and-coral-reefs.html
Sunday, August 28, 2011. Capitol Domes and Coral Reefs. Just entering the park. Look at this picture closely and you will see one of the famous "capitol" domes on the ridge-top. Even the campground is set among the ubiquitous fruit trees. We arrived in the late afternoon, so it wasn't until morning that we were able so start exploring. Temperatures were rising quickly, so we chose a short hike - to a natural bridge nearby. From the trail we could see down to the heirloom orchards. Sean under the bridge.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. It's all tied in to that "watched pot never boils" law, so that the garden only seems to grow when we stop looking. As you might have noticed, we changed our header photo to our latest harvest. All told there was about six pounds of zucchini, including these two who were non-existent a week ago:. Me at 6 am on our first morning back. We couldn't wait to get out into the garden. Harvest, including our first yellow pear tomatoes (fabulous! Cinnamon Basil - its flower and stem have a...

I wish they had stuff like this back when I was in scouts. Given how many places we hiked then and where in the world I've been since, I could have a bit of a collection in the log book. But I digress. Liens vers cet article. Mardi, 12 janvier 2010. Because I did it in C#. Well, I guess when most of the committee members would l...

Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Snapshots: Isaac at 2.25 years old. Me: Isaac, can you look at the camera please? Isaac: Just a minute, I'm looking at the flowers. Any time we ask a yes or no question he prefaces his answer with "probably.". Me: Would you like a banana? Isaac: Probly, yah. Jacob: Isaac, is Sophie buckled? Isaac: Probly, yah. His love of water is rivaled only by his love of sand/dirt. This is his current favorite spot to play. He asks questions all day long. "Where are we going? At any given ti...

Jun 12, 2013. I am glad that I met you. But, it confuses me. I wonder if God sent you to make it easier for me to get over my ex. Or you are truly my soul mate? I am glad that I met you. I said "I feel like perigi cari timba". You said "Hey boleh tak berfikiran moden sikit? What are your intentions behind those snickers and hopeful remarks? I pray and i pray hard - Oh please Oh please let it not be another wanna-be! I am glad that I met you. I supposed you do too right? I don't care and I don't mind.
