Old Sidney and his 8 Track: February 2006
http://jboythemagnificent.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Old Sidney and his 8 Track. Tuesday, February 14, 2006. From comments received, it appears we went too far with our last post. It has been deleted and JB has been suspended from running the Blog, indefinitely. We acknowledge that Mr. Garden has worked extremely hard in creating a great looking place, and JB had no intention of implying otherwise. We received a lot of heat, and we deserved it. So, that was the last straw! Old Sidney and his 8 Track. Tuesday, February 07, 2006. Old Sidney and his 8 Track.

Old Sidney and his 8 Track. Monday, August 28, 2006. My Trip to New York. Everyone is asking about pictures from my New York trip. Here I am at Coney Island. After this photo op., I headed for where you SHOULD ride the Cyclone - the back seat. The cyclone is definitely the roughest (i.e. bumpy, jostling) ride I've ever been on. Rode the back seat, or next to back seat, 4 times. My neck was stiff for a week, but I'll be back on it as soon as I can get back up there. The day was extremely hot on my way dow...

Linguini on the Ceiling: August 2015
http://linguiniontheceiling.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 23, 2015. On Being an Introvert. I am so glad that being an introvert has become fashionable. At least, I assume it has - one can never tell whether what you are interested in has become popular, or if it's just showing up a lot on your Facebook feed because of your interest. At any rate, it turns out that being an introvert is okay now. But, Sisiggy," you say, "Here you are blathering on about being an introvert - but you are blathering in a very public place - the internet.". My boss is ...

Linguini on the Ceiling: On 27 Years of Marriage
http://linguiniontheceiling.blogspot.com/2014/10/on-27-years-of-marriage.html
Friday, October 10, 2014. On 27 Years of Marriage. Thinner, more attractive.and very, very stupid. Anniversaries tend to uncork all sorts of sloppy sentimentality that almost loses its meaning in triteness. And, yes, I know how cynical that sounds. Let's just say I don't do goo and treacle and I really don't want to be trite. As of 1 pm today, I've been married 27 years and, quite frankly, it hasn't been all Ozzie and Harriet. I'll admit that I married for the romance. It really was. So if you were expec...

Linguini on the Ceiling: November 2013
http://linguiniontheceiling.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Whether you want to or not. I think I've finally mastered the skill of not making an all-out assault on a major holiday. So the bar was set and every year I would frantically try to incorporate any and all traditions and even concocted some of my own. I would cram my kids with so much rich food and heartwarming ritual they would feel positively miserable if they had to spend the holiday anywhere other than with their perfect mother. And, once again, I will dig out the basket o...

Linguini on the Ceiling: June 2014
http://linguiniontheceiling.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 14, 2014. Just a Couple of Guys. Let me tell you about a couple of guys. Actually, I was just going to tell you about one of them, in honor of Father's Day. Then it turned out I had to travel to New Jersey this week for the funeral of the other. The first one is, of course, my own father; the other is my Uncle Ciro, who was also my godfather, who passed away this last Tuesday at the impressive age of 95. Oddly, as secure as I felt and as calm and light-hearted as my father was, I now know ...

Linguini on the Ceiling: Return of the Native
http://linguiniontheceiling.blogspot.com/2015/08/return-of-native.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. Return of the Native. Let's face it - I wasn't ready to return to New Jersey. I've known this for a long time and, out of respect for the citizens of that state, I've kept my distance. They don't need me timidly attempting to pull out onto freeway or holding up the line at the coffee kiosk asking the lady how she was today. But there comes a time where the longing to see loved ones trumps courtesy and, in this case, the gathering was a wedding. That ends every southern conversati...

Linguini on the Ceiling: March 2014
http://linguiniontheceiling.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 08, 2014. I've given up Facebook for Lent. This was not uncommon for most of the Catholic rituals and traditions - we were just supposed to do. Without really knowing why, other than, if we didn't, we were officially committing a Mortal Sin ( deep echoing voice. Which meant an uncomfortable trip to the confessional. It is only now that I'm older and have been out of the Catholic Church for almost 35 years that I understand the value of some of those practices as a spiritual tool. I was go...
