Radio Protector: March 2007
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 March 2007. 10 Reasons To Love 1 Song- Ep A. The 'Ten Reasons To Love One Song' Series. Episode A- 'The Butcher' by Matt Pond PA. The rumbling sweep at the beginning to let you know something is going down. The introduction before the vocals, each furious jab of the cello paradoxically drawing the listener closer. The way the strings stalk the start of each verse to sketch out the melody. The completely unflashy yet melodically essential guitar bits in the middle and near the end. The delica...

Radio Protector: April 2007
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 April 2007. Your Eyes Are the Sun. Some people have already got the hang of these new techniques and my current favourite is a guy called James Vella, known hereafter as A Lily. There are two interesting things about this album, titled Wake: Sleep. I've included two tracks from the nine that Wake: Sleep. Sadly, as I'm increasingly finding while trying to delve further into less obvious music, it's very difficult to get hold of this album in Britain. In fact, Amazon (never mind the High Str...

“New-stalgia”–Sharpening Up the Ol’ Cutting-Edge | ericminorimc

This WordPress.com site is the cat’s pajamas. 8220;New-stalgia”–Sharpening Up the Ol’ Cutting-Edge. It’s 1986. I’m 13 years old and have just discovered alternative music. I’d heard The Clash on the radio, but didn’t yet know enough to know they were punk. In the small town of Philippi, W.Va. where I grew up, there was no alternative radio station. The only way to hear music from the underground was to try to pull in the college radio station from Morgantown ( my beloved U-92. For nothing more than the c...

But you can't take the 'Ham out of the Lewis. What's going on up here anyhow? Sunday, October 31, 2004. Whenever we set the clock back or ahead it really messes with me for a few days. It's only 7:50 right now, but I feel like going to bed. Of course it also got dark by 6:00, which I really don't like. By Wednesday I'll be used to it and fully embrace the constant darkness of the next 4 months. Also, the Seahawks were able to not lose today! Posted by AL @ 7:49 PM. Monday, October 25, 2004. Meh, why not?: November 2007
http://garrettkw.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Meh, why not? This'll probably be mostly about music, but what's really keeping it from being about anything else? Tuesday, November 27, 2007. An Update Just for the Sake of Updating. I haven't had too many pearls of wisdom that I wanted to share with the world lately, but there is one thing I definitely want to recommend. I was listening to an old episode of This American Life. A couple of weeks ago which encouraged listeners to remix a song. Will let you have as many tracks as are necessary for remixin...

earfone (耳邊風):a punk rock outfit that evolves.: October 2005
http://earfone.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Earfone (耳邊風) a punk rock outfit that evolves. Friday, October 28, 2005. Posted by earfone at 3:40 AM.
