Lucky Mike's The Good Life. Category Archives: Thoughts on Matters. Share It (but don’t steal it). Michael F. Weinberg. September 25, 2008. Yesterday’s Penny Arcade. Addresses piracy, or, more properly, the sharing of media between more than one person. It posits that early attempts to prevent piracy by asking the consumer not to share or copy games were ineffective, since the request was delivered absent of consequences or technical limitations on making copies. Necessarily, as media consumption shifts ...

Lucky Mike's The Good Life. Category Archives: Music Recommendations. Chromeo Releases a New Dress Code. Michael F. Weinberg. September 12, 2010. Chromeo’s newest release. Until the record drops on September 14th. I’m hugely obsessed with Chromeo, and consider any tracks the duo touch cause for celebration. Is no exception. It continues the dance-driven groove of their previous records, replete with smooth Talk-Box choruses and slightly geeky, urgent lyrical come-ons. At Berbati’s Pan. April 13, 2009.

2014 Advent Playlist
http://www.luckymike.com/2014-advent-playlist
Lucky Mike's The Good Life. Every year it gets harder to find good Christmas songs that are new to the advent list. That said, five years would make a great run, so I’m going at it (at-least) once more! Pretty Paper – The Reverend Horton Heat. Christmas Eve With You – Brian McKnight, Dave Koz, & Julie McKnight. Snowmans Stomp – Steve Gray. Grown-up Christmas List – Monica. In Love At Christmas – K-Ci & JoJo. White Christmas – The Isley Brothers. A Love Letter – R. Kelly. Christmas Card – Marvin Sapp.

52 Foods Week Fifty Two: Barhi Dates

Lucky Mike's The Good Life. 52 Foods Week Fifty One: Guinea Fowl. 52 Foods Week Fifty Two: Barhi Dates. Michael F. Weinberg. December 27, 2011. Two years ago, we escaped rainy Portland to celebrate New Year’s Eve in sunny Palm Springs. As I mentioned earlier this year, our trip involved a stop at Shields Date Garden. I was able to get a package of Barhis from Leja Farms. I began by pitting and chopping a cup of dates and covering them with four ounces of Maker’s Mark bourbon. I chose Maker̵...The sha...

The McLaughlins: 7 Months
http://paulandmegan.blogspot.com/2012/03/7-months.html
March 27, 2012. Kinley turned 7 months in February and was quite busy. She learned better balance while sitting up, got her two lower teeth, and started rolling with a purpose. We're enjoying the fact that she's still contained to one area. Pretty soon she'll be getting into Gavin's toys and I'll be breaking up fights. :). Here's some "Kinnie-bean" cuteness. A nice day at the park (she LOVES the swings). Kinley's pal, Bennett. They're 9 days apart. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Not That You Asked.

The McLaughlins: January 2011
http://paulandmegan.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
January 31, 2011. This cute little thumbsucker will be joining our family in late July! We'll be finding out if "Emby #2" is a boy or a girl in about a month. Stay tuned! January 15, 2011. Gavin sings AND plays guitar! We got a new camera for Christmas and captured a great performance of the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle from Gavin that morning. Sorry it's a little grainy, but I think his talent still comes through pretty well. :). Catching up on Christmas. Gavin helping us hang ornaments. Mom in her element.

The McLaughlins: The holidays!
http://paulandmegan.blogspot.com/2012/02/holidays.html
February 27, 2012. Since this blog is hopelessly backed up, I'm combining Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years into one post. We had a great time celebrating the holidays this year, and we had lots to be thankful for! Including healthy happy kids,. Mommy and Aunt Krissy took the kids to the mall to see Santa, and it went surprisingly well! Gavin was excited to tell Santa that he wanted a cement truck and a Sally Porsche (from the Cars movie). Santa did not disappoint. :). We had Christmas Eve and Chris...

The McLaughlins: August 2011
http://paulandmegan.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
August 27, 2011. And now, I can finally do an update on our latest excitement. Kinley Reese McLaughlin joined our family on July 20th! She was delivered by c-section at 6:10pm, weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 19 inches long. Our plan was to have labor induced on the 21st, but little Kinley decided to get things going on her own. It's been almost 6 weeks now, but things are still pretty fresh in my mind, so I wanted to document it. And we are all so in love with her. The end! Our family of four!
