Tuesday, June 30, 2015. The building itself was constructed in 1911. It’s a brick walled structure with a flat roof and a metal-clad mansard skirt with dormers. Oh, and a clock tower! Pretty cool, although presently non-functional. The central staircase is in really good condition. Another cool but unusual feature for a post office. Again I assume: would a post office normally have a vault? Here's the clock face viewed from within the clock tower. Aged metal panels adorn the clock tower. Fort St. John.

Monday, August 3, 2015. The view from Pilot's Monument looking south across Yellowknife Bay. Another view from Pilot's Monument looking north to Back Bay of Great Slave Lake. Just east of Old Town is the Painted Rock which is a monument to the cross cultures of the region: the Metis, Dene, Inuvialuit, and English and French Canadian cultures. It's simply what the title says. Sunday, March 25, 2018. Last week was definitely a travel week. The first two days were spent in Kelowna on a work assignment, followed by 3 vacation days in Tofino. So bear in mind, this post is out of order chronologically. Propeller tips create the craziest air patterns sometimes. This wasn't a trip for admiring the snow-capped peaks, but the cloud cover.
