http://embracingmyownglow.blogspot.com/2014/12/life-changes.html
Embracing My Own Glow. Wednesday, December 17, 2014. You are in your prime years. You have a wonderful family, friends and life is good. Everyone is healthy and happy. Then suddenly one day, you get a phone call. "I'm sorry, but your test came back, and you have cancer. You are lucky though, because it was caught early, but you do have to have one more surgery because they cannot rule out a tumorous spread" You are crushed. Embracing My Own Glow. Embracing My Own Glow: Round 2
http://embracingmyownglow.blogspot.com/2013/06/round-2.html
Embracing My Own Glow. Saturday, June 8, 2013. I have been wanting to write about recent events, but when I have the time, my mood hasn't been right. I have been on an emotional roller coaster since this happened, and I knew that some of those emotions needed to be shared in a more constructive way than I was prepared to do at that time. He walked in and barely looked at it and told me that it didn't set off warning bells, but since I said it was changing, and with my history, he wanted to biopsy it....

Black is the New Pink - Fight Melanoma: Melanoma Awareness...It's That Simple!
http://blackispink.blogspot.com/2015/04/melanoma-awarenessits-that-simple.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Melanoma Awareness. It's That Simple! After my brother passed away from Stage IV melanoma, I had questions; simple questions really. What is melanoma? How does one get it? How does one prevent it? How can I know if I have melanoma? If I was to imagine a conversation to summarize the message and opposition, it would probably go something like this:. Me: Melanoma is a skin cancer…. Them: Oh thank goodness! What is good about that? But you can just cut the melanoma out…right? Yes, I ...

Embracing My Own Glow: 5 Years NED - Scars
http://embracingmyownglow.blogspot.com/2015/07/5-years-ned-scars.html
Embracing My Own Glow. Thursday, July 16, 2015. 5 Years NED - Scars. After the excision, I had to keep pressure on my forehead for 24 hours. She hit a vessel, and this would keep it from forming a blood pocket underneath. My bandages went from my eyebrow to my hair line. I didn't know what to expect. I knew I had 3 stitches, but were they close together or far apart? After 24 hours when I changed the bandage, I was shocked. It was just over the width of my index finger! I was so happy. Embracing My Own Glow: January 2013
http://embracingmyownglow.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Embracing My Own Glow. Saturday, January 19, 2013. He said we would be needing our sunscreen for the next few days. There's no point to that story, just events that were on my mind this morning. I have been contemplating the title of my blog along with the direction it um. hasn't been going. I have loved the pale movement that we are seeing in celebrities along with all the postings sharing that. Previously tan celebrities are now embracing their natural skin tone. They are all beautiful. Welcome to The ...

Embracing My Own Glow: April 2013
http://embracingmyownglow.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Embracing My Own Glow. Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Life in situ is a very strange and confusing place to be. Ok, lets get this sucker cut out and move on with life. But wait! There was more. What is this about seeing her every few months? It's gone. That's when I began doing research. Why have I never gone for any kind of scan beyond a skin screening with my dermatologist? Embracing My Own Glow: Quarterly Skin Screening, 15 months....
http://embracingmyownglow.blogspot.com/2011/09/quarterly-skin-screening-15-months.html
Embracing My Own Glow. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Quarterly Skin Screening, 15 months. Yesterday was my quarterly skin screening. It is so hard to believe it has been 15 months since my melanoma diagnosis. My anxiety went down over the course of the past week, thank goodness, so I was able to talk to the dermatologist about more this time. In the past the results have been within 1-2 days, but she did tell me, that it could be 7-14 days. I will update when I hear. Embracing My Own Glow. In 2010, at the...

Black is the New Pink - Fight Melanoma: September 2014
http://blackispink.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 1, 2014. Labor Day.No Time to Put Away the Sunscreen! It’s Labor Day. Summer is unofficially over. If you or your kids aren’t back in school already, they’ll more than likely start very soon. It’s time to put away the beach towel, the boogie boards and the sunscreen, right? Okay…the beach towel and boogie board can get stowed away, but that sunscreen needs to remain in your medicine cabinet or bathroom counter! UVA rays are more commonly associated with aging and wrinkling. They als...

Black is the New Pink - Fight Melanoma: January 2015
http://blackispink.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 3, 2015. My Wishes for 2015. My son and daughter will turn 13 this year…they’ll be teenagers. I wish that they will gladly accept their own skin color and resist any temptation or peer pressure to tanning in the summer time because it’s fashionable. Every person’s skin color is their own, and part of what makes them beautiful. There’s no need to change. Enjoy the coming year my friends. Many good things will happen! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
