Bit of this, bit of that. I haven't posted here for a while mainly because I haven't finished anything, despite having many projects on the go. Got a couple of pics of some clothes I've made over the past few months:. Dress made from Japanese lawn fabric, using a dress bought ages ago as a base pattern. Cotton canvas jacket made using a vintage 1950s pattern. Bright floral shirt made using a Burda pattern (love that fabric! Grey jersey top made using a similar top as base pattern, nice drape. drifting craft: April 2012

http://www.driftingcraft.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

It's a rainy Monday, perfect for finishing a crochet throw I started last year. I used 16 ply organic wool sourced online from Australia Organic Wool. The wool is chunky which makes for relatively quick work, and it is soft and very tactile. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A little bit hardcore, a little bit crafty. View my complete profile. drifting craft: Cushioned

http://www.driftingcraft.blogspot.com/2012/09/cushioned.html

Yes, I could have made my way to a local home furnishing shop or browsed online stores, but instead, I made my own cushion covers. This is a much better way to work my creative glands. I found a great website called spoonflower.com that specializes in printing custom fabric (and they now do custom wallpaper too! I chose some great prints and got them printed on linen-cotton canvas. Check them out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A little bit hardcore, a little bit crafty. View my complete profile.

drifting craft: August 2012

http://www.driftingcraft.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Okay, it's not very crafty but some skill is required. Today was freezing and rainy, a horrible winter backlash after days of mild weather and sunny days. Excuse enough to do some baking. This is a twist on a standard banana cake, with added lemon juice and zest, polenta for texture, and almonds on top for crunch. Yum. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). drifting craft: Power tool Friday

http://www.driftingcraft.blogspot.com/2012/08/power-tool-friday.html

The man of the house busted out his power tools today and knocked together this wooden wheelbarrow. He used wood from scavenged pallets and a few other bits of detritus knocking about the place. Recycling at its best. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A little bit hardcore, a little bit crafty. View my complete profile. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

Stitched

I’ve often wondered how much of my relationships are a function of proximity. Always and always, when I consider the people I’ve met, I think of what blessing it is to have found each other. Now and then, though, I also think about how easy it would be for things to fall away. Because eventually there is leaving. Divergence perhaps is inevitable: all roads lead to goodbyes because life proceeds, or because it ends. Let me leave the door open knowing people could walk out any day. Because all I can be rig...

Drifting Dandelion

Friday, November 27, 2009. Did you doubt it? A recent facebook chat with my good friend:. Someone just did a dedication on the radio station. You are the glue that keeps this family together". Yes, that is cliche. What about being the covalent bond that keeps the family together? You are the intracellular pectin that keeps the family together. Or the cofactor that keeps the family running. You are the collagen that keeps this family tight. You are the laminin in my life. Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
