About this, that and the other. November 18, 2013. Move it, move it. On the 1st of July I loaded a GPS running app onto my iPod and started what I hoped would be a new regime of regular exercise. At the beginning of the long summer holiday a friend asked if I wanted to try and lose a bit of excess baggage in an act of solidarity with her. I said no. Then got home and changed my mind. Why not? I went back out and bought a set of scales, the first Ive ever really owned. Posted at 06:00 AM. November 17, 2013.

Half a dress done | in between the shifts

In between the shifts. Half a dress done. July 24, 2015. July 24, 2015. Once my cooking was done (and I’d delegated the hoovering and the sorting and emptying of rubbish and recycling to the children), I spent most of the rest of the day working on a new summer dress. Releasing the pause button. One thought on “ Half a dress done. July 25, 2015 at 10:19 pm. Looking forward to seeing it, the fabric choice looks beautiful! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. In between the shifts. May 10, 2016. May 10, 2016. I’m now six weeks into my new job, and my new commute; a lovely settled rhythm is starting to make itself felt. I have run once, tubed a few times, and mostly cycled. The commute has become one of the highlights of my day. Working in theatres suits me, and I am finding the job fascinating. As ever, there is so much to learn – which for me is a good thing, and makes my job more enjoyable. All those weird anaesthetic drugs! A golden Spring walk. Appropriat...

Fitting in the running | in between the shifts

In between the shifts. Fitting in the running. July 5, 2015. July 5, 2015. Of all the different things I do on a day off, running is one of the most challenging things to fit in. Running doesn't take very long in itself – I'll usually run for between half an hour and an hour – but the tiredness it inflicts on me afterwards can wipe me out for much longer. The Olympic Park at about 7:30am yesterday - shortly before my race. Flapjacks, thank yous and putting the world to rights. July 6, 2015 at 1:41 pm.

Miaou: March 2012
http://miaoucrafts.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, 31 March 2012. At last, I have finished remaking my rainbow granny! Originally I had decided to add another 14 squares down the sides. So that it was wide enough to drape properly over my chair, but when I came to look at my poor sad blanket I noticed that it had come apart in several places. So I decided to take it apart completely (you should have seen the look on everyone's faces when I started to hack into it! It's so clearly explained that even my crochet novice brain could understand it!

daydream in colour: Familiar but so different
http://daydreamincolour.blogspot.com/2015/07/familiar-but-so-different.html
Thursday, July 2, 2015. Familiar but so different. This week has been very interesting for me. When you are quite a close family like we are, everyone's houses are familiar and very much second homes. In the case of my parent's house it's probably more familiar than my own home as I was 3 when we moved in and I won't mention how old I was when I finally moved out! I've been heading outside when I need a bit of quiet time and have just been wandering around the yard looking at Mum's garden. Tomorrow is Fr...

Weaving the Fabric of Life. April was a month of contrasts. Of snow, rain, sleet and sunshine. Of hats, coats, short sleeved t-shirt and sandals. Of walks in the woods and a walk around our capital city. What about your month? 29 April 2015 at 09:26. We went from sandals and bare feet to wellingtons and waterproof trousers! Miaou: October 2013
http://miaoucrafts.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 17 October 2013. I think I must need my head examined! Buoyed up by my success with the Cath Kidston blanket, I decided to embark on another one. It's a win-win as the weather gets colder - I get to play with pretty colours, and I get to snuggle under a growing blanket on a chilly evening at the same time. Happiness! I'd picked the delightful Ripple Pattern. By Lucy at Attic 24. So - I went for it. Actually, the look on my family's faces was priceless - they were horrified! My daughters in part...
