We’ve laid out the rowing race course to give spectators on the prom a great view of the races on Saturday 30th July. The races start at around 10:30 and finish around 4:00pm.We have a massed start from the beach between Bath Street and Bellfield Street and head out towards a bouy on the horizon. RowPorty attended the Fisherrow fun regatta organised by our wonderful nearest skiffing neighbours, Eskmuthe, on Saturday 1st August. Bringing rowing back to Portobello. What to wear and bring. Get wet, probably up to your knees. Wear stuff that can get wet on your feet and legs. Old trainers, sandals, Crocs etc. Not wellies, they will get full of water. You should also bring:. A bottle of drinking water. Warm clothing to put on afterwards. A waterproof bag or case for your phone – or leave it behind. We don’t have any changing facilities, but you can change and shower at Portobello Swim Centre for a small charge. Sign up via BigTent.
