The Crafty Peacock: Trimmin' Out the Doors!
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/2016/01/trimmin-out-doors.html
Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Trimmin' Out the Doors! We were lucky enough to have been able to buy a fairly nice home (especially for a couple in our mid-twenties who just got married). Our living room even has crown molding! Yeah, it's sagging in one spot, but I'm sure I can fix that. One day I'll get around to it. I loooove nice, big, chunky trim though! I'm a history junkie, even had an internship at a historic home giving tours. I loved that "job." And I love that house! It was Blount Mansion. Just not...

The Crafty Peacock: New Light Fixtures/Laundry Room
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/2016/01/new-light-fixtureslaundry-room.html
Friday, January 1, 2016. New Light Fixtures/Laundry Room. I'm a terrible blogger. So sorry, life got busy and the blog fell to the wayside. But! I do have an update on the laundry room to make up for it! It's not done, but it's getting there! Just for old time's sake, here's where we left off. Definitely an improvement on where it started. But I've done a lot of work in here over the past couple of months! Big changes, amiright? I do have some in-progress photos (the ones I remembered to get, anyway.).

Thursday, July 30, 2015. DIY Chalk Paint Desk. So in my last post, there was a bit of that desk that I got at Habitat for Humanity Restore back in the winter, all glammed up and ready to be a sewing desk! Now that Ive had it for a while, I can honestly say this was an amazing purchase, and Im so glad I pulled the trigger on this desk. Lets take a look at what it looked like before the white out:. The Crafty Peacock: Mini Update (Bonus!)
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/2016/01/mini-update-bonus.html
Sunday, January 3, 2016. Since I was absent for so long, I'm trying to. In my last post. I mentioned that I got some new light fixtures. One already went in the laundry room:. I had to wait on the other two because we needed to get the correct lightbulbs before installing. We're slowly switching everything over to LEDs (daylight, preferably, but our bathrooms are soft white. The laundry room is soft white too, but it may get switched at some point. Maybe). Also, we're going to be painting in here (and in...

The Crafty Peacock: Come Meet Me!
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/p/meet.html
This blog is my way of giving back to the online craft community. I've learned so much from other blogs and DIY sites, and I'm hoping that as I document my experiences and make my projects that I can inspire someone else! Some background on me personally. I am 27 years old, live in small (but growing) town Tennessee, born and raised. I work a 9-5 corporate job, which I enjoy very much. But when I come home, I like to spend my time on DIY (or at least researching and planning my next project!

The Crafty Peacock: Hoosier Cabinet Makeover
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/2015/08/hoosier-cabinet-makeover.html
Monday, August 17, 2015. My aunt has had this on her porch for as far back as I can recall. It was subjected to a little bit of the elements on one side, but nothing too damaging. And when I started putting my craft room together, she offered it to me. My parents hauled it up here and my mom and I spent a day painting it an making it pretty again. Here's where we started:. Obviously needed some serious TLC. We decided painting pretty much everything was the way to go. That way none of the "gunky" sho...

The Crafty Peacock: September 2015
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/2015_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 17, 2015. Im one of those people that fought Pinterest with all my heart and soul for the longest time. And eventually succumbed to its glory. Seriously, Pinterest is dangerous. It makes me say things like I want to hang an antique chandelier in the laundry room. Where does that even come from? I really do though. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Crafty Peacock: DIY "Built-In" Bookshelves
http://thecraftypeacock.blogspot.com/2016/01/diy-built-in-bookshelves.html
Tuesday, January 5, 2016. This post has been a long time coming. I just knew it was going to be massive, so I kept putting it off. Oops. Just a warning, this post is extremely picture heavy. When Tyler and I started dating, he showed me his massive book collection (lots of graphic novels, mostly), and mentioned how much he would love to have built in book cases big enough to hold them all one day. So naturally the house we bought had no such thing. And got the Mainstays again. We'd just finished painting...
