Kirsty's Media Blog: April 2010
http://misskoisty.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 27 April 2010. Having been distracted by the group project, the editing for my individual project is somewhat on hold. Luckily I have completed all the filming (though may take this weekend as opportunity to get some little extras) and have all the animation bits ready to edit together. What do you think? Group Project: Reassessing Our Approach. Up to this point we had edited the interview footage from just one tape and were finding it impossible to match up the cut down clips with this new tape...

Blogged thoughts...: Unlucky Productions...The filming stages
http://keiranosaurus.blogspot.com/2010/05/unlucky-productionsthe-filming-stages.html
Thursday, 6 May 2010. Unlucky Productions. The filming stages. An apt name for such an unlucky group I think. Plagued with technical difficulties and cast dropping like flies, we still managed to soldier on and complete our group project 'Securus Viaticus' or 'Easy Money' in latin. Why in Latin? Because we feel there is not enough latin being used in today's society, and it sounds pretty cool. End of. Directing and on the cameras, Carlina. I know how tiring it was because I made a cameo myself as a runnin...

Kirsty's Media Blog: December 2010
http://misskoisty.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 18 December 2010. Without some form of commentary (be it in form of narration of captions) it's hard for viewers to connect with the film. With documentaries it is better to use a voice over as it does not detract from the image on the screen, if people are trying to read captions they will miss what is being said/shown on the rest of the screen. A voice over should compliment the picture and fit with the images on screen. When should I write/think about the V/O? The most important think to con...

Kirsty's Media Blog: January 2011
http://misskoisty.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Monday, 31 January 2011. Before Christmas, myself, Mike and Ant were involved in some filming at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution. As part of the Illuminate Bath Festival. What we were filming was co-ordinated by Ant from a contact through the university, a play called Vanessa and Virginia. We filmed the whole play which totaled being over 2 hours long, however this is the 'trailer' for it, as edited by Ant:. What do you think? Saturday, 29 January 2011. But needless to say the script h...

Kirsty's Media Blog: January 2010
http://misskoisty.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 January 2010. In todays session we have been using Celtx in order to deconstruct a scene. This is aiming to help us know how to construct a scene when it comes to making our group projects for 4003. To do this we used the car chase scene from 1968 film Bullitt. Starring Steve McQueen. The scene is different from modern day car chase scene in that the shots tend to be longer, the longest one of which is around 18 seconds long. What do you think? Friday, 22 January 2010. We are staring work on o...

Wednesday, 19 May 2010. Bye bye 1st year. A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him". A poignant quote that has certainly helped me along in my first year of study. Last Friday we went over to Paintworks to go through everyone's individual projects. We had to choose a selection of group and individual projects to be included in a 45 minute show-reel to be shown at the Little Theatre. And Tripod in shot! Monday, 10 May 2010. I was really looking forw...
