Keith and Celia: Kuri Manjū 栗饅頭 (Chestnut buns)
http://keithandcelia.blogspot.com/2015/05/kuri-manju-chestnut-buns.html
Friday, May 15, 2015. Kuri Manjū 栗饅頭 (Chestnut buns). Today's coffee: Spring-colored blend (春色ブレンド). I have lots of things on my bucket list of stuff I want to do before home assignment. A few of these are cooking projects—making sure I can make from scratch certain foods that I can easily get here but not so easily in the US. (If you come over to my house while we are on home assignment, you will likely benefit from this.) Although it is possible to get wagashi. Are an important part of tea ceremony!

Keith and Celia: Finding some thankfulness in the middle of mess
http://keithandcelia.blogspot.com/2015/06/finding-some-thankfulness-in-middle-of.html
Friday, June 19, 2015. Finding some thankfulness in the middle of mess. Today’s coffee: Kenya. I’m tired. There is a mess at my house. I just want this to be over. I guess the fact that packing is horrible makes we want to be done and leave… I think I will need at least two months to recover from this one month. So… four more days to pack up, then we move our stuff out, and clean the house. The end is in sight, but the next four days will be very full. I’m feeling rather numb. I’m thankful for all ...

Keith and Celia: October 2014
http://keithandcelia.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. Keith and Celia Olson · Newsletter #26 · October 31, 2014. Autumn picnic tea on our day off. Dear Friends and Family,. It’s been an embarrassingly long time. We have been engaged in what we call “putting out fires”: taking care of urgent things which aren’t necessarily important, while neglecting things that are less urgent but more important. Fortunately (? The very important but long-overdue prayer letter has now become a fire to put out. Keith led us in a devotion and communi...

Friday, May 29, 2015. Keith and Celia Olson. May 29, 2015. Dear Friends and Family,. Well, this is it. We’re down to a month left of our first term… and we have no idea how we’re going to get everything done before it’s time to get on the plane. On June 7 we have our last ministry obligation, and after that, we’ll be packing and saying our goodbyes. Please continue to pray for each of these five people, that they would grow closer to God. Some photo highlights since the last newsletter:. Please pray for ...

Keith and Celia: January 2015
http://keithandcelia.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. Today's coffee: whatever was in our room this morning. I'm on the Shinkansen. I think I used to call it the bullet train before I came to Japan. One of our colleagues suggests that we invent a new word: "shink." It's a verb which means "to travel by Shinkansen." As in, "today we shinked to Hanamaki." Or is the past tense shank? Another exciting part of traveling by train in Japan is Ekiben (駅弁), which means a bento bought at a station. At the same time, we are in the middle of f...

Keith and Celia: Onsen Manjū
http://keithandcelia.blogspot.com/2015/06/onsen-manju.html
Monday, June 15, 2015. Sometime during home assignment I’m sure I’m going to have insatiable cravings for manjū, so I may as well practice now… and I’m putting off things I actually need to do by working on the all-important “cleaning out the pantry” project. There were beans that needed eating, also brown sugar. We’re moving, after all. Here’s my first attempt. I might post updates later if I have any better attempts later on…. Ingredients, for 12 manjū:. 190; teaspoon dry yeast. 115 mL warm water.

Keith and Celia: December 2014
http://keithandcelia.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 29, 2014. What we ate (and other Christmas notes). Today’s coffee: New Year’s Blend. It’s raining today, which is annoying, since it makes some of the huge amount of snow that fell on December 26 rather slushy and gross. But this too shall pass; the weather will get cold again later this week. This is our car, on the morning of December 26. It's hard to tell from the picture how much snow that is, but it's more than 2 feet. Scones with yuzu curd, jam, and cream. Lots and lots of tea.

Keith and Celia: March 2015

Thursday, March 26, 2015. Ultramans photo diary, part 3. It's been awhile since I've had time to write. Things have been rather busy lately. My computer is broken (again), so this week, I'd like to present another edition of Ultraman's photo diary via my iPod. Enjoy! Greetings, earthlings. It's been awhile. I'm sure you've been eager to know what I've been up to. Let me enlighten you. Of course I've been training. I got a bit stuck this time, though. In January, I took a trip to Tokyo for a photo shoot.
