Fresh Sheet: The Buzz
http://edibleseattle.blogspot.com/2009/02/buzz.html
The latest good things from Edible Seattle. Thursday, February 12, 2009. I recently watched River Cottage. Spring and River Cottage Fall, and am totally delighted with two projects I saw on the series: guerilla gardening, and urban beekeeping. I wondered if such things were going on around Seattle. There are basic common-sense rules about keeping good lines of sight, and the city is in favor of low-water-use plantings, but there are fairly simple ways to add some edibility to the roundabouts. Culinar...

The Frause Blog: Decking the Streets
http://frauseblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/decking-streets.html
Tuesday, November 22, 2011. And more consumers are doing their gift buying online. Following General Electric’s release of Christmas light kits. In 1903, lights have become a staple of the holiday season in the ranks of Frosty the Snowman and stockings hung by the chimney with care. They light our dark November and December days in the Pacific Northwest and beckon Seattleites downtown for some holiday cheer – something I now get soak up on my way to and from Frause. The Frause Blog: September 2011
http://frauseblog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. The Almost Famous Kate Hudson. Hi, I am Kate Hudson (but no, Goldie Hawn is not my mom). I am Frause’s new autumn intern! I am in my senior year at Seattle University, majoring in strategic communications with an English minor. My life synopsis is best described by my Twitter. First listed definition for the word intern is:. Verb (used with object). My time at Frause will be no such thing. This morning’s breakfast huddle—a morning meeting that sounds as if it was...Throughou...
The Frause Blog: We know people who know people
http://frauseblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/we-know-people-who-know-people.html
Tuesday, October 25, 2011. We know people who know people. On Friday, Frause had the opportunity to take a private tour of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. We took an office fieldtrip to the foundation’s new campus, an exciting privilege considering the visitor center is not slated to open to the public until late 2011 or early 2012. In our admiration of the different facets of the campus, “We need to get that for Frause’s office! 8221; echoed throughout our tour. Posted by THE FRAUSE BLOG. It was ...
The Frause Blog: Founder Bob
http://frauseblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/founder-bob.html
Thursday, November 3, 2011. On my first day at Frause, I came across a friendly gentleman in the hallway who introduced himself to me as Bob. My excited response was: “Founder Bob! 8221; He chuckled and said, “Yes, Founder Bob.” One month into my internship at Frause, I had the opportunity to sit down and ask questions of the guy who started Frause in 1998. This is what I learned. What led to the decision to name the agency based on your last name? What do you enjoy most about your job? For Bob, the chal...
The Frause Blog: Can’t live with them, can’t live without them
http://frauseblog.blogspot.com/2011/12/cant-live-with-them-cant-live-without.html
Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Can’t live with them, can’t live without them. While interning at Frause, I have dabbled in media pitching and observed the delicate dance that takes place between journalists and PR professionals. The relationship is a bit of an oxymoron, where both require the other to function, yet the road to success is imbedded with bumps and potholes of frustration. Ragan’s PR Daily. From my experiences as Frause’s intern, I look forward to the day where I communicate for a living! If th...
Rib-off 2011 | hori hori dig dig
https://horihoridigdig.wordpress.com/2011/08/01/rib-off-2011
Hori hori dig dig. Eat travel. dig. seattle. August 1, 2011. The 3rd annual rib-off competition was the best one yet! Last year we were a bit crowded in the house, so we decided to have the rib off in conjunction with our neighborhood block party. Our friends C and S live on the street next to ours so we did it in front of their house. Thanks guys! My friend Kelli of Shindig Events. It was a huge help. A major highlight was the Street Treats. Did I mention I won…again? Check out the pics:. Fill in your d...
Getting started | hori hori dig dig
https://horihoridigdig.wordpress.com/2011/06/12/getting-started
Hori hori dig dig. Eat travel. dig. seattle. June 12, 2011. Finally got around to planting a few things at the Ballard P-patch. This weekend. I have to admit I’m a little intimidated trying to grow new veggies. I don’t want to spend a ton of money and then somehow kill all the plants. I went to Swanson’s. And decided I’d plant 1/2 the plot with flowers and decorative plants and the other 1/2 with edibles. My lazy companion. He didn't even offer to help. Getting started on my plot. Hori hori dig dig!

But I was thrilled some dear friends (who might as well be family) were able to join us. So that 13-pound turkey I brined and grilled out in the chilly garage certainly didn’t go to waste! Well you should. It’s one of the cook’s very best-best friends. Need a dessert in no time flat? 8221; Who needs Doritos when you’ve got these? I buy puff pastry in flat sheets t...

The Frause Blog: May 2011
http://frauseblog.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 24, 2011. The old school nuts and bolts of PR. Each day at Frause is different, and my workload often fluctuates, but often the assignments come in piles. Well, that last hour was madness, but sure enough, we were able to complete the piles and even caught a stack of materials that were missing their stamps. Taking the boxes down to the lobby at just about 5 pm on the dot, we found ourselves in fact well ahead of the postman’s pickup. Posted by THE FRAUSE BLOG. Links to this post. I am a sen...

Eat With The Seasons
Eat With The Seasons. Culinary Letters Between Northern and Southern California. Sunday, November 28, 2010. I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air. Except when in the kitchen! But I digress. I purchased a brown paper bag of chanterelles, perfectly in season. And later on, after a hike in the Hollywood hills, this is what I made:. Chanterelles, Acorn Squash, and Japanese Yam on Polenta. I used the t...

Edible Sensations
Sunday, February 13, 2011. So very happy I have an immersion blender! Handful of frozen blueberries. 1/3 cup or 1/2 cup yogurt. Maybe more, I haven't actually measured it. A splash of orange juice. 1 banana, chopped up. Anyone have any other smoothie recipes? I'm especially interested in green smoothies with spinach or something. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Scrambled Eggs done right. This includes when I make them for myself, often too scrambled, too flat and brown and at times even crunchy. uhg. Say that...
