On Friday 15th May, year five children visited Crofton Roman Villa in Orpington. The site was first discovered in 1926 by workmen constructing driveways for council offices, but it was not until 1988 when the site was fully excavated and was then preserved with a cover building. Giving you a flavour of life in 3S. 3S Evacuation to Kent Countryside. 3S started their “Dig for Victory” WW2 topic by being evacuated to Horton Kirby. In the time there, the evacuated children were billeted with new families, experienced an “air-raid”, took cover in the playground shelter and played a variety of outdoor games which were popular during the Second World War.
