It hasn't stopped raining since we got back from Greece, and it seems as if it's going to get worse. So I've been checking out some of my holiday pics to cheer myself up. I'm having trouble uploading pics from Picasa Web to my blog, although you can check them out via the Picasa link on the left. After a couple of days the sun is now shining and I was able to upload pics from my computer.

Thursday, October 23, 2008. I haven't been in a blogging mood lately, mainly because of computer problems. Broadband is working OK, although the speed is a bit tardy, it is the general slowness of my computer which is driving me nuts at the moment. In spite of regular clean ups, and a recent increase in RAM, it's still not right. I'm convinced that it's all Windows fault, and I'm thinking of trying out Linux. Testing from Home Page. Thursday, November 27, 2008. We went back to Tauranga a couple of days later to be with Maureen for her birthday. It could have been a sad occasion, but it turned out to be a lovely day for her. Monday, October 3, 2011. Batten down the hatches! First decent rain for a while. Great for the garden, but not so good for tv viewing. Rain fade paints an interesting picture, but at least there's nothing important on to be ruined by it. The strong winds are what I hate. Saturday, December 20, 2008. Youngest member of the Whanau. Today we met Maia Anahera, our great granddaughter, for the first time, and what a bonny baby she is. She looks so much like both Steven and Jamie-Lee did at that age. It was neat to see Steven, Karen, Sarah and Jamie-Lee again. Sunday, August 31, 2008. The fruit trees are blossoming and the birds are busy. Here is the elusive Grey Warbler. I spotted it from my kitchen a couple of days ago. It was taking away nesting material from an old nest in the cherry tree. The Kereru have been very active lately, and I managed to get this shot today. While one was perched above our drive. Friday, September 26, 2008. After more than 2 weeks waiting for connection and a frustrating few hours of installing I'm happy to say that we now have broadband. Yesterday was my last day at work for this term, so I'm going to have more time to check out my favourite internet sites.
