Welcome to Hawaii Dolphin Boy's Blog. Ua pau te maitai no te fenua re zai noa ra te ora o te mitie". Friday, June 14, 2013. Well, it's been a while since I posted. Since then I've moved to Ohio. This isn't my favorite Kona pool but it'll do for the summer months. Miss the island lifestyle and friends. Especially miss the Ocean and the underwater friends I would see while swimming off the Kailua Pier! Okay, going to make it a great day and get out and exercise even if the weather isn't the best.

I get to do this. My first race back. Chug a beer at the gun, chug a beer at every bar, finish 6 miles of this, then hang out and drink beer the rest of the evening. I get to do this. Easing out of an injury. It's no secret that I've basically been injured since a few months before Kona in 2012. Yeah, that's a. Better slow than not at all. So I knew I needed to make some changes if I ever wanted to recapture some of my speed - the first one was to get the hip better. Of course, logically, that is what MUST happen. LOL. I get to do this. I'm a visor girl. Ok, I admit. I have a problem. I can't get away from an expo without a visor or a pair of socks. Even though I have given many hats and visors away, I still have a lot - but never too many. And even though I never wear them, I find it hard to part with the finisher Headsweats hats from all of my Ironman races through the years. I covet them like medals. I get to do this. It wasn't a pretty run, but good enough. Still nursing the right hip/hamstring injury that's been with me for what seems like forever - but at least I can run, so I do.
