Wednesday, July 30, 2014. We are in Utah. And we are *mostly* unpacked. Don't ask me about the basement or the guest room. We hung the TV over the fireplace. Because it's all set up for that already. I hate TVs over the fireplace. Huh, no picture of the actual tv.just the process. Without really thinking about the consequences. I started stripping the wallpaper off the wall of the dining room. Now it looks really terrible. And I'm tired of doing it. Isabelle has decided we are ok. Then we put on a show.

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Happy Birthday to Frank! It's Frank's birthday and he's 51. Holy cow, that's old. I made him a homemade german chocolate cake. That's his favorite kind. And I made one for his big 50th birthday surprise party in Oregon. It was one of the best tasting cakes I've ever made. Even though it's time consuming. So to prove my true love and devotion. I made it again this year. Pats herself on the back*. Before adding the chocolate frosting. We had a low key day. Every time he uses it.

Thursday, August 27, 2015. I know it isn't truly Fall yet. But the kids are back in school so it feels like fall to me. Plus, the last couple of days have been rainy and cooler.so that's also having an effect. But it seems when fall hits, I always want to nest. I want to clean. I want to redecorate. I want to buy furniture and refinish it. I find myself scouring craigslist (or KSL for you Utah folks) for interesting pieces of furniture. I want to get some mums. I probably won't do any of those things.

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. In our church we have this thing called "Family Home Evening". We get together every Monday as a family and either have a lesson of some kind, or an activity, or any number of other things a family might do together. So, at the condo where my parents live, since there are no kids, the adults all get together for Family Home Evening. One couple chooses to be in charge. This Monday my parents signed up to be in charge and then my Dad asked all of us local kids to help him out.

Thursday, August 13, 2015. I have had such a crazy, full schedule this summer! When I write it all down it looks like all I have done is vacation, vacation, vacation. Frank is jealous of my life. After returning from Massachusetts,. I had a couple of weeks and then it was off to church girls camp. Followed by Alaska to help Amber and Branden move. I only went to a couple of days of girls camp this year because I had to leave for Alaska in the middle of that week. But I had a great time for those two days.

Friday, August 14, 2015. Last outing with Isabelle. For my last outing with Isabelle, we decided to check out The Puppy Barn. This is near my house and a number of people have told me I should go there. And, yes, Isabelle loved it! The point of the place is to adopt out the puppies. But they let you pet and hold them which is nice. Isabelle loved the dogs but she also loved the automatic hand sanitizer machines that we had to use between after we held a puppy. So easy to please. Friday, June 26, 2015. Whenever I am annoyed by something here in Utah. I try to list for myself all the good things about being here. I don't really want to be that person who complains about where they are. Especially when I longed to be here (or close to here) for so many years. But I just have to say. You knew there was a "but" coming, didn't you? The flies are making me nuts. We would get the occasional house fly in Mass. But I don't remember it really being a problem. Here they are everywhere.

Thursday, August 13, 2015. The big Massachusetts vacation has come and gone. It was the thing that Carter and I were both looking forward to this summer. Carter went for a month and attended EFY (youth retreat) and High Adventure Scout Camp. And I went for 10 days. My excuse for going was that I was "taking" Carter. I mean, I had to drop him off, right? I really enjoyed getting to see old friends. I didn't really take time to do any sightseeing. Although I had intended to do that. What a great welcome!

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Since I now live in Utah,. I am trying to take advantage of some of the very Utah-ish things that there are to do. Twice a year we have General Conference where our church leaders speak to us. In Boston we could watch this over satellite at our church building. Or on the computer through lds.org. In Utah we have more options! Church building (I assume). Go to the Conference Center and see it in person! For girls and women ages 8 and up. I got my hands on some of the free tickets.

Saturday, January 24, 2015. All of this upholstery. Has put me in a crafty mood! But I'm waiting for my new, improved staple gun. My old one, from Home Depot, has been malfunctioning, which is scary when it happens,. And also uses really big staples which aren't perfect for upholstery).
