2 Responses to “On the Farm”. January 16, 2009 at 1:51 pm. Looks like they enjoyed the farm! Is that rainier cherries I see? January 16, 2009 at 2:56 pm. Thanks for the sweet words. I have no idea what sort of cherries are those. Have to ask my mother-in-law, but it is not my birthday yet – I try to avoid conversation with the woman – although she is a great woman – it is just that I am her daughter-in-law. A Shot of England: January 2011

http://ashotofengland.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Jan 30, 2011. It was cold when we went out for our afternoon walk today. Hardly anybody was outside. I felt a bit melancholy, having worked on the computer all day with the BBC blaring Egypt updates into my ear. How much up-to-date is too much up-to-date? The sunset, though, was gorgeous. It's very hard to resist a good sunset. Even though I've snapped so many of them. Links to this post. Jan 4, 2011. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. A Shot of England: New playground

http://ashotofengland.blogspot.com/2011/02/new-playground.html

Feb 1, 2011. It's nice to play with other photographers, and to be challenged by assignments, but I gave up submitting links to any of the many memes that are around. I couldn't keep up replying to comments or visiting other people's sites, great and inspiring as they often were. Ive taken a look at Shuttersalt and will keep it in mind. There are some excellent photos there. I enjoy your mat sequence too. February 15, 2011 at 7:28 PM. Happy to see that a little bit of snow. May 10, 2011 at 8:29 PM. Stree...

A Shot of England: chive portraits

http://ashotofengland.blogspot.com/2011/04/chive-portraits.html

Apr 20, 2011. Well, the appearance of the first chive blossom is an excuse to test ones macro lenses, innit. 7d and Canon 100mm, f2.8 brings me very close, 5d II and same lens: I like the quality and lastly 7d and Sigma 20mm (yes, this is a wide angle macro). That lens needs very little distance, I was about 1 inch away from the flower. And yes, it's ortonized (I can't help it at the moment). We just have tough green sticks of leaves here still. April 22, 2011 at 11:39 AM. The first one is my favorite.

http://ashotofengland.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Aug 13, 2010. I saw this on a quiet evening on the Norwegian Sea some weeks ago. It sums it all up for me, really. Links to this post. Aug 1, 2010. Not having found time to blog for about a year, here is my second post of the day:. I travelled to Norway some weeks ago. For reasons I don't quite understand, the midnight sun has often featured in my nightly dreams, and I finally wanted to see if it is as gorgeous in reality as it is in my subconscious. And it absolutely is! And prefer exposure blending.

I Wish I Were a Photographer: October 2014

http://iwishiwereaphotographer.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

I Wish I Were a Photographer. Monday, October 27, 2014. Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! Welcome back to your favorite little meme! Here we are, back in Seattle, on my family's trip there this past summer. I didn't actually take many architectural photos in the city itself, but we did go to the amazing Chihuly museum, and I've found some in the pictures that I took there. For those of you who may not know, Dale Chihuly. And of course, since we were right there, and this *is* Seattle. By posting your p...

I Wish I Were a Photographer: Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! #169

http://iwishiwereaphotographer.blogspot.com/2015/02/whimsical-windows-delirious-doors-169.html

I Wish I Were a Photographer. Sunday, February 22, 2015. Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors! Welcome back to our little meme! Last week I shared a building with you that I found in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood. Walking back to my car, I suddenly saw a whole row of fascinating windows, off in the distance:. Really cool looking, right? Naturally I couldn't resist going closer to get a better look - which I'll happily share with you next week :). Meanwhile, it's your turn! February 22, 2015 at 11:39 PM.

Sunday, November 20, 2016. The Voynich Manuscript: the Treviso Arithmetic. There has been a discussion about the dating of the folio numbering of the Voynich manuscript over the years. Some experts suggest the page numbers could have been placed on the parchment as late as 16th and 17th century. It is clear that the folio numbers of the VMs do not belong in the early 15th century because numbers 4 and 7 were written differently at that time. Wednesday, October 5, 2016. There are other interpretations of ...

The Ellieverse | Adventuring beyond the known universe and going where no Ellie has gone before…

Adventuring beyond the known universe and going where no Ellie has gone before…. Who’s Flying this Ship? To say I miss the sound of your laughter would be alike to saying there are few stars in the night sky. Many a time just that simple memory helps to make long days and even longer nights a little more bare-able. These days my memories of our times together and the hope that they will come again soon are the only things that keep me going. Strength to carry on. Do you remember the day we met? I promise...
