Emails from God: Preliminary thoughts to Living Waters Methodist Church
http://emailsfromgod.blogspot.com/2008/10/preliminary-thoughts-to-my-home-church.html
Celebration of God's Love, Meditations on Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit in my life. Sunday, October 19, 2008. Preliminary thoughts to Living Waters Methodist Church. Do we not go into certain areas because the Government is already taking care of it? Who are the orphans and the widows whom our Lord's heart bleeds for? What is our responsibility as one of the wealthiest nation in the world to the rest of the world? If we want to see the Lord move in our church, let's commit to meet together and...
Emails from God: The Harvest is Plentiful
http://emailsfromgod.blogspot.com/2008/10/harvest-is-plentiful.html
Celebration of God's Love, Meditations on Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit in my life. Sunday, October 26, 2008. The Harvest is Plentiful. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest. To send out laborers into his harvest. What did our Lord Jesus mean when he used this allegory of the harvest being plentiful, and the laborers few? Are we as single-minded in responding to God’s call to harvest souls or are we often distracted? Do we condi...

Emails from God: Women Christian Conferences
http://emailsfromgod.blogspot.com/2008/11/women-christian-conferences.html
Celebration of God's Love, Meditations on Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit in my life. Saturday, November 15, 2008. I just attended a Women's Christian Conference in Hong Kong at the Vine, called Soul Sister's Unite. Having spent the formative part of my Christian growth in an intergenerational church, I've never given much thought to fellowship amongst women, much less uniting as women in a church - because I've been fortunate enough to have older women in the church that I could speak with.
Emails from God: My Very Amazing Christmas
http://emailsfromgod.blogspot.com/2008/12/my-very-amazing-christmas.html
Celebration of God's Love, Meditations on Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit in my life. Saturday, December 27, 2008. My Very Amazing Christmas. As the first Christmas Service at the Vine began, we quickly found out that we had overlooked rostering teams to serve for the service! As I reflected on my blessings at Christmas that night, the phrase floated in my heart:. Alone, and yet, not alone". For within God's kingdom and in the family of God, we will never be alone. 40 Days in Heaven.

Consuming in Asia: Religion and Consumerism
http://consuminginasia.blogspot.com/2008/10/religion-and-consumerism.html
Sunday, October 19, 2008. Early next year would be the elections for India. From the local talk, it seems that politics is largely influenced by religion. My question is how much of consumer patterns are influenced by religion here? A couple of quick possible examples:. 1) A respect for elders that extend to the eldest person in the family giving permission for significant purchases. This eldest person may be a female, which is a unique position in a patriarchal society;. Thoughts a Month Down.
Consuming in Asia: FMCG & Bad Debt
http://consuminginasia.blogspot.com/2008/11/fmcg-bad-debt.html
Sunday, November 16, 2008. FMCG and Bad Debt. The question that needs to be asked is “What is the real value that I am providing to my consumers’ lives that is not measured in dollars and cents? Who offered unhealthy food or supported unhealthy lifestyles that resulted in unforeseen medical bills that finally pushed bad credit over the edge? We are all part of the same ecosystem and each have a responsibility. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Reports on Foods, Goods and Living in Asia.

Consuming in Asia: Diwali and Decision-making

Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Since I haven’t posted for the past two weeks, I have accumulated some India entries. These would be my last India entries as I am actually back in China. In this post I would like to focus on consumer buying patterns in the rural areas. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Reports on Foods, Goods and Living in Asia. Futures, Sustainability and Design. Sunday, October 19, 2008. Pictures from a ride around Delhi Noida. Part of the extensive construction going on around Noida - flyovers, metro system, multiple roadworks, all in a rather haphazard manner with fragile-looking scaffolding and flimsy hoardings. This one appeared to be using steel. for residential projects, bamboo scaffolding are used. Typical bus in Noida - this one's already in a better condition. Pictures taken on a Lumix LX2. Consuming in Asia: Noida Streetlife
http://consuminginasia.blogspot.com/2008/10/noida-streetlife.html
Sunday, October 12, 2008. When switching on the light elsewhere, I had gotten used to the fact that it will stay on. Not so in Noida, although it could be considered a large industrial town. The electricity had even gone off for 2 hours in the middle of a hot and humid night. Delhi is supposed to be moving into autumn, but the heat and dust of India are certainly holding that off. Saturday, November 29, 2008. Short Lessons from the Developing World. This is the second last of my India posting. I was moved and troubled by the recent Mumbai bombings, much in part because I had spent time in that beautiful country. But time away from a country dulls the memory, and I have barely scratched the surface of the Indian consumer mind. Here is a transcript from one of my field studies at D.light. A company that designs and manufactures LED Solar Lights, has impacted the lives of villagers.
