As you can see, I’ve always loved cats. At school, I was the classic booky child. Definitely not cool or part of the ‘in’ crowd. That didn’t really matter at primary school, but it got harder going at secondary school. It didn’t help that my dad chose my shoes for year twelve. So sensible! And well made. Authors often get asked if they base characters on themselves, and in this case it’s a definite no! I can’t see ghosts, I’m not sure I even want to, but that doesn’t mean I’m not fascinated by them. I love to hear about people’s ghostly experiences, and I’ve had some of my own. I’ve been told there are spirits in my house (nice ones) and something happened to me once in a house that was said to be haunted something I’ve never been able to explain. Buy Ways to See a Ghost. I read kids books because I'm a School Librarian, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Tuesday, 29 October 2013. Image and Imagination at the YLG National Conference. Friday and Saturday of last week were the most intense days of my year! Starting on Friday with a 4.30am alarm it was non-stop until 5.45pm on Saturday (apart from a small gap of about 7hours sleep). Play by the Book has written a lovely blog post about all the fantastic authors. At the joint YLG/SLG/SLA conference in June last year.
