Monday, September 29, 2008. Thoughts on The Bluest Eye. I'll admit it: I have not gotten far at all in this book. I don't even have it with me. However, I do recall the very curious introduction " See the house. The house is green.". While I'm not positive, I think that is the text of one of the earliest children's books. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. I haven't read any graphic novels outside this class, so I'm unsure if many others have taken Shakespeare on, and how they compare to the original. Anyway, from what I've seen/read so far in Dream Country. Gaiman is sort of faithful to A Midsummer Night's Dream. Are actually acted out as a play by the characters. Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Why do we enjoy focusing on others peoples strife? Why focus so much on the problem, or worse yet the symptoms? OK, I know this isn't what was asked for but c'est le vie. Or death. There are much larger issues here. Does conflict shape who we are or do we shape conflict? In other words, we shape ourselves regardless of whats going on. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Below is my take on one of the relationships involved in Shakespeare's play.
