Contrary to popular belief, the Empire Café was not, at any time, a gas station. In the early 1930s Joseph Hollyfield opened his family business, Hollyfield Laundry and Cleaners. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Serves the typical cafe food (sandwiches, soups, salads) along with other items like pasta and pizza. There's also breakfast if you get here early but there's no need to rush, it's only okay. But I don't come for the food. I come for the coffee. I come specifically for the Milky Way (iced espresso with caramel, hazelnut, chocolate syrup and cream). Yeah, it's barely coffee but it's delicious. Modified by the accidental dad.
